Alphabet Challenge Blog - M for Men

Can you believe a week has gone by already and time for my (pre)post for Alphabet Challenge Blog - this week the theme is M for Men so I thought I would get a head start on Father's Day woop (5 months in advance how organised am I?!?)

I've had these stamps for a good while now (I think I may have bought them in the sale last year) but they'll definitely be coming out again cos I really liked colouring it up. The papers were just perfect for this gardening stamp, and the raffia carried on the theme. I did think it needed a bit of sparkle though so out came my nail heads - love them - these are brown ones which toned in perfectly with the colours.

And a close-up to show the off the nice veggies

Supplies: Stamps by Buzzcraft, Nailheads by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Helz Cuppleditch
Extras: Raffia, White Card, Beige Ink Pad, Glossy Accents, Copics, Promarkers

Hope you all have fun with the challenge... I'm off to bed now, yay Friday by the time you read this - off out for tea too (postponed from last weekend cos we were both still ill) can't wait :) XOX

Baby Bumps

We had some lovely news this week, our friends, Steph and Neil, are expecting their first baby they'd just been for their first scan. I wanted to make them a congratuations card and got to use my 'Expecting Nikki' stamp that I won in one of the challenges :) yay. I have to say I was cursing this card, the card I'd stamped the image on was really thick and it was a right pain to do the stitching - all by hand (my own fault - I was too lazy to get the sewing machine out lol). But yep anyways this is the card - I went a bit mad with the glitter oops but I'm sure Steph will appeciate the sparkle.

Supplies: 'Expecting Nikki' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Jazmyne' Papers by Bo Bunny, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Circle Nesties
Extras: Ribbon from Stash, Promarkers, Copics, Thread, Ribbon from Stash, Lilac Ink Pad

Happily Ever After

Just a quick post as my eyes keep trying to close already, so much for my early night lol. Yay past half way through the week, though today has been one of those days and also I'm convinced that tomorrow is Friday (going to be gutted when it sinks in that it's not lol) even though know it's Wednesday today - it's OK I know I'm strange lol.

Anyways onto the card before I waffle on too long. I wanted to keep this card quite simple - yay more super-cute chickies (I did warn you I went a bit mad with adding them to my basket - well there was a sale on so what's a girl to do lol). Anyways yes wanted to keep it quite simple so the image takes centre stage. Found this scrap of hear paper that was just perfect with the grey and pink of the image. This was my first attempt at masking (the image is 3 separate stamps, castle, knight and fairy princess) I know they're not quite alligned but I'm happy enough with it. Added some glitter to the fairy and the castle and some glossy accents to the knights armour and voila...

Supplies: 'Princess Castle' 'Fairy Princess Chickie' & 'Knight Chickie' Stamps by DeNami Design, Paper by Doodlebug, Pink Card by Doodlebug, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Pink Ribbon by Anna Griffin, Labels Nesties

Pugs and Love Blog Award

No card from me today, been trying to catch up on everything that I'd left when I wasn't feeling well, and trying to work out what I want to do for my design team cards.

But anyways I had a lovely surprise today, Pami at Pami's Crafty Creations, gave me the Love Blog Award - which I accept thank you xox
Here are the conditions for the 'Love Blog' award.

You have been TAGGED and want to participate?

Create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image.

You should also blog the person's link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award.

You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged. I'd like to give this award to:

Frea - Creafrea

Lisa Jane - Mess2Magic

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers.

How cool, thank you Pami :)

Before I go here is a picture from the other day when we went to see the pugs, this is me with Miss Pickles (Mr Bojangles didn't seem as keen to sit and have his picture taken but she made herself comfy lol)

Sunday 23 January 2011

Come over all girly

Not really done much this weekend, went down to Ian's on Friday so he could go and sort his friend's computer - but yay they have 2 pugs so I got to play with them while he was busy - awwww they're so cute I want one lol. We were meant to go for a meal last night but neither of us were feeling great still so we decided to postpone till next week. So been a bit of a lazy weekend but it was much needed. Though means I've fallen a bit behind with my cards, so going to playing catch up as much as I can this week.

Anyways onto today's this is a 21st card for my cousin's girlfriend, very girly card for me lol and yay lots and lots of pink. I also got to use some of the flowers that were in the candy that I won from Debby woop - not used this style flower before but I really like them - did have to invest in some expanding envelopes lol.

Alphabet Challenge - L for Ladies

I can't believe how quick this week has gone, and wow it's time for my second design team card.

This week the theme at Alphabet Challenge Blog is L for Ladies, I knew straight away I would have to use my Shopping Nikki Stamp and some girly girl colours, I also managed to get some ribbon in there and got to have another go with my new rolled flower die. Definitely been one of my favourite new buys.

As well as glitter and glossy accents for the shopping bags - if only they were like that in real-life (although having said that maybe glittery bags wouldn't be that practical if it was anything like the glittery paper that Ian wrapped my Christmas presents in - everything is still covered in glitter (and for once I'm not responsible lol)

Supplies: 'Shopping Nikki' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Forever Friends' Papers, 'Quite Contrary' Papers by My Mind's Eye, Gems by Doodlebug, Glitter by Judikins, Rolled Flower Die by Die-Namics
Extras: Pink Ink Pad, White Card, Lilac Card, Ribbon from Stash, Promarkers, Copics, Glossy Accents

Sorry this is another short post, off to bed now (cheating and pre-posting but there's no way I'll be up early enough to post in the morning and get out in time for work) XOX

This is one of my favourite new stamps, the chickies are just soooooooo cute, and these are my new papers I treated myself to with my Christmas money I love them nice and bright :)

I just want to say thank you to everyone for the comments on my last card, I loved it and really nice to see the comments. I think I'm going to make a giant version to go in my scrapbook or possibly make it into a canvas to go on the wall - will post the results when I get it done.

Anyways this will just be a quick post as I have another one to go on as I'm going down to Ian's tomorrow. This card is for one of my mates who is still ill, I've used all my get well stamps up but thought this would be just as good. And hey more blue !!! (I have to say I can't wait for chance to get back to pink cards lol)

Awwww how cute is Robyn hugging her teddy perfect for the cuddly challenge, and some flocking on his belly (have to say it looks much better in reallife)

All Loved Up

Finally seem to be getting back into things now, and seem to be getting better (touch wood - cos I thought that last week too) so can hopefully get some more things done.

Anyways going to be quick as I want to get on and get a card made before bed, so onto today's card. This card is for Ian - we've been together for a year on Saturday :) I can't believe how quickly it's gone :) but it's great he makes me so happy, I love him so so so much (it's ok I'll stop there before you start reaching for the sick bags lol). I have to say I love how this card has come out. My starting point was the use a photo challenge on Sweet Stampin' Challenge so I knew straight away I wanted to use one of the pictures of my flowers that Ian got me for Valentine's Day last year, and this Forever Friends paper just suited the style so well. Some Rub-ons for the sentiment and some gems for a bit of sparkle, and cos I'm a nice NO GLITTER (poor Ian is normally covered in the stuff by the time he goes home) so really hope he likes it.

Supplies: 'Forever Friends' Paper, Rub-ons by Doodlebug
Extras: Gems, Photo, White Card, Red Ink Pad, Square Punch, Heart Punch

Birthday Wishes to my mum...

... if she sees this it's her own fault as I warned her not to go on here till after her birthday. This is her card off my Dad. The stamp was in the Candy that I won on Debby's blog woop woop so made up still, how perfect is it as it arrived the day I was planning my mum's cards lol. Lots of new things on this card as the circle was cut with my first set of Nesties :) and the flowers were made using my new rolled flowers die. I really don't know how I lasted this long without a die-cutting machine it just makes life so much easier, still working at getting the placement right but still made up with the results. I can't wait to get some more nesties.

And my first attempt at rolled flowers :)

Glossy accents on the frosting and the jam tarts to make it look more realistic

FIRST EVER DT CARD - Alphabet Challenge Blog - K for KEYS

Wow well this is my first ever design team post :) excited and a bit nervous lol

The challenge over at Alphabet Challenge Blog this week is K for Keys, which instantly made me think of the sentiment 'You have the key to my heart' so ofcourse it had to be a Valentine's Card lol. And got to use one of my favourite stamps and lots of sparkle

I love this key charm, I've had it for ages, I think I might have actually bought it when I was out in Australia and have been saving it for something special

I love these chickie stamps by DeNami Design - I've literally only just found them a couple of weeks ago and I may have gone a bit overboard buying them - I'll restrain myself though so you don't have them in every post lol, sorry I was a bit eager to take the pictures and I've just noticed that the glossy accents is still a bit cloudy - it's gone all clear in real-life now lol

Supplies: 'Chickie with Heart Balloon' Stamp by DeNami Designs, Red Card by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Gems, Ribbon from Stash, Key Charm from Stash, Glossy Accents, Red Ink Pad, Promarkers, Copics, Fineliner

Anyways this is Ian's mum's birthday card, I'm using the same papers as on the last card I made, I love them though, all nice and warm - especially that red-ish one from the back ground.

Bling It On

Yay yay yay :) can't believe I'm actually smiling (though I've been up since 3.30 this morning so maybe I'm going loopy from lack of sleep) but I've only got one more day in work (how cool is that new job and my first week is only 3 days long - breaking me into it gently lol) and I got home to find that half of my parcels have arrived woop it's like Christmas again (but Christmas with discount lol) and got some other news too but you'll have to wait hehe (it must be contagious everyone seems to have news that they're keeping to themselves lol).

Anyways I'm off to Ian's straight from work tomorrow (hoping that they won't keep us there till 5 on the dot as I think I've only got 15 mins to get from work to the platform then. And then Friday morning we're off to visit some of Ian's friends so we're down there for the weekend be nice to have a break.

Anyways enough waffle, onto the card... this is a card for one of our friend's birthdays, I've used a sketch to get me started, and used 5 papers - not like me to have that many on - but I love this sketch, great for using lots of paper scraps up too. And of course plenty of gems (with an extra couple for her earrings) I love the way it's turned out I have to say lol

Blush

Another scrapbook page for you today, that's my challenge this year to try and catch up on my scrapbooking, I've still got masses and masses of my australia pics let alone all the rest and it's been very neglected in favour of making cards this last year - how naughty lol.

Anyways this is for the challenge over at By the Cute and Girly where the challenge is Bling It On - I think with all the gems I stuck on this that it definitely qualifies (and I think I deserve a medal for not chucking it across the room when the gems kept sticking to my fingers instead of the paper lol.

New Year, New stash

Yay I finally got to play with my cuttlebug :) (mainly so I could show Ian (who bought it for me) what it actually does lol. It's fab just been playing with the folders that came with it but I have some nesties on their way and have been looking for some dies but my shopping list is rather a lot bigger than my bank balance lol. Can't wait to get it out again itching to have another go and try it out with some different cards and things.

Anyways for this card I got to use my new cuttlebug and embossing folder and got to use one of my new DeNami Stamps - I love them those chickies are just sooooooo cute so I had to buy a couple of them lol, and there's even more on my wish list lol. Just soooooo cute I couldn't resist getting them. I've kept the card quite simple (so much for making busier cards lol) so no patterned paper!!!, but I got my shimmer chalks out that I've had for about 8 years (really need to replace them as running out of my favourites and most are starting to crumble now) and just rubbed the white over the image and embossed card, just gives a really nice subtle effect which makes a change from the half a tub of glitter which seems to migrate onto my cards lol

And a close-up, you can just see the shimmer on the chickie card and the embossed card, it shows up alot more in real life (doesn't it always lol)

Supplies: 'Wedding Chickies' Stamp by DeNami Designs, 'D'Vine Swirl' Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug, Card by Doodlebug, Shimmer Chalks by Pebbles Inc, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Ribbon from Stash, Copics, Promarkers

I'm off to try and get some cards done now I think (thought best make the most of a day off as I start my new job on Tuesday and I'm away next weekend - think I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms especially as there's a few of my orders that should be turning up this week and I won't get chance to play with my new stuff sob sob ah well will be earning money to buy more lol XOX

Step Back In Time

How was everyone's Christmas and New Year? Good I hope. Had a lovely Christmas and New Year was really nice too, my cousin Lucy made her traditional gingerbread house and brought some lanterns to set off. It was so cool there were loads and loads of them flying over.

I was going to put some cards on but thought that there had been more than enough of them the last few weeks so here's a scrapbook page for a change, this is one for the album I'm doing up of all my old baby and holiday pictures. These are of me at about 9 months down by the marina near where we lived. I love this layout with all the brads and buttons and a blue layout - not got many of them lol.

Supplies: Cardstock and rub-ons by Doodlebug, (paper, buttons, brads, flowers, die-cuts, charms from stash)

I would like to enter this layout in the following challenge...

Right and now a couple of Christmas photos....

This is me trying to use magic to keep the star on the top of the tree.

One of the decorations off the tree downstairs, I complain to my mum every year that mine is for 1983 and my first Christmas was 1982 lol

And one of my new decorations for this year - really pretty glass snowflake that I got at the Christmas Market in Manchester, just realised the baubles were new too - miniature ones from Paperchase.

Onto New Year - here is the Gingerbread House as made by Lucy

And them trying to light one of the lanterns lol

Right I'm off, need to get something to eat and need to get some boxes up into the loft. XOX
