Back to Cards

Morning, well afternoon now (how did that happen?) lots to get done too, cards, a frame and a couple of scrapbook pages that I have started and so far not managed to stick a thing down on them - wish me luck.

Anyways here is today's creation - not used the Penny Black baby images in ages and ages, and not got a clue why cos they're sooooooo cute love them. Also found a bit of the clothes line paper left (well got a sheet of the boy and the girl that I'm keeping for myself lol) love that paper and some of my yummy satin ribbon sooooooo lovely and so glad that I can tie bows :) I didn't realise that not everyone can till I got a friend hooked on card-making and then scrapbooking and watched her try lol bless. But anyways really pleased with the card :) now best get a move on - need to get the rest done...

Supplies: 'Bundle of Joy' Stamps by Penny Black, 'Audrey's Clothes Line' Paper by Flair Designs, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, White Card, Pink Ribbon from Stash, Copics

Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - W for White (plus one other colour)

I'm so glad that by the time you read this it will be Friday - work has been a nightmare this week and so can't wait for the weekend but yay only one more full week in work and then the bank holidays commence :) and off out for a meal Friday night so got something nice to look forward to

And yes it's time for another challenge over at Alphabet Challenge Blog this week the challenge is a nice easy one - W for White (plus one other colour) I had a few baby cards to get made as my cousin has just become a Dad for the first time. A little girl (in case you hadn't gathered from all the pink) called Evie :) we went up to see her on Tuesday - she's soooo tiny and sweet :) and Anyway onto the card...

I had made a card a few weeks ago using squares of embossed card to make a patchwork effect. I decided to adapt this and leave gaps to show the white, and got to make use of my new square nesties - REALLY don't know how I survived without them - they make it soooooooo quick and easy :)

Supplies: 'Baby Girl' Stamp by Lili of the Valley, Sentiment Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Me and My Big Ideas, Pink Coordinations Card, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Square Nesties
Extras: White Card, Pink Ink Pad, Copics, Promarkers

Make sure you head on over to the Challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team have been up to and also to meet the 2 new design team members. XOX

WoW

Yay I can finally upload pictures properly again (thank you Ian - mwah) and yay I got my Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge card finished this week (have missed loads recently - very naughty of me lol) anyway this week's challenge is White on White - have to say I love other people's white on white cards but I've never really liked my own and tend to avoid the theme. But I have about a million new baby cards to make this year and want to try and keep them all different so I don't get too bored of them lol. This one is for Ian's cousin, who has just had a little girl 'Evie'. There was also a couple of Embossing Challenges which I think is perfect for white cards. I used a couple of my embossing folders and created a patchwork effect. (the flower is white but has come out creamy) added lots of glitter to the image and some shimmer chalks (though they haven't really shown up on the photos).

A close-up of the glitter

Anyways onto the card we've got a couple of babies due in the next few months, so I thought I'd get a start on the baby cards (no one knows what they're having so I'm going to be making a selection). I finally got to use my Ellie Stamp - I've had it for ages and it's soooooo cute - perfect for lots of glitter and gems and glossy accents, and more glitter on the papers too now all I need is one of the babies to be a girl lol

Supplies: 'Ellie and Rabbit' Stamp by Stamposaurus Stamps, 'Nana's Nursery' Papers by DCWV, Ribbon by KI Memories, Flowers by Bo Bunny, Gems by Doodlebug, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, Nesties

And the elephant - cos Ian asked me what I wanted for Valentine's Day and I replied that I wanted an elephant lol - yes it's been pointed out that I meant a real one lol. But how cute is he - Fred :)

And the tulips starting to open up :)

Right I'd best get going otherwise I'm not going to get anything finished tonight and the list of jobs for tomorrow is already full lol XOX

Baby Bumps

We had some lovely news this week, our friends, Steph and Neil, are expecting their first baby they'd just been for their first scan. I wanted to make them a congratuations card and got to use my 'Expecting Nikki' stamp that I won in one of the challenges :) yay. I have to say I was cursing this card, the card I'd stamped the image on was really thick and it was a right pain to do the stitching - all by hand (my own fault - I was too lazy to get the sewing machine out lol). But yep anyways this is the card - I went a bit mad with the glitter oops but I'm sure Steph will appeciate the sparkle.

Supplies: 'Expecting Nikki' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Jazmyne' Papers by Bo Bunny, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Circle Nesties
Extras: Ribbon from Stash, Promarkers, Copics, Thread, Ribbon from Stash, Lilac Ink Pad

Right as promised here's a couple of pictures from today, we went for a walk at Loggerheads and there was snow - how cool (it's really really rare for us to get snow and when we do it doesn't really stick so I'm a bit of a big kid when it comes to snow), the view towards the hills including (if I've remembered rightly) Moel Fammou

All wrapped up

Right off to try and defrost my feet... XOX

What a lot of waffle...

Just a little post...
...well that's the plan anyway, I've not managed to make any challenge cards yet today fallen massively behind - really don't know where the time is going, I got more challenges done when I was working lol. Anyways I cam on to check my e-mail and got it into my head that I needed a new title/header thing for my blog (well not a new one have only had the basic thing that came with the template, and got a really fancy idea in my head with photos all matted together so did all that (thank goodness am getting my head round photoshop lol) but when I put it on it was just far too cluttered so had to take it off but there was no way I was leaving it back as the plain boring one so I managed to come up with this to match my watermark :) really pleased with it cos the colours all match the blog, now just need to re-colour my watermark so that matches too lol. What a lot of waffle (infact going to have to rename the post lol)

Not managed to achieve a great deal this morning, been commenting on the Ladybug Crafts Ink's Design Team's Cards for TOTALLY LADYBUG TUESDAY, and yay they've started a challenge blog (I know cheering after staying that haven't had time to do any challenges) but I love Kerry's Stamps and it'll give me a push to use them lol - I think I've still got some that haven't seen ink (shock horror lol). Anyways there's a link to the blog on the side-bar, check it out as there's blog-candy to be won.

Anyways yep while I was on here I thought I'd best post a card as I've been a bit slow on posts the last few weeks, anyways here is todays card, it was made for the beginning of September and hadn't got round to posting it lol, what am I like. One of the girls in work wanted a new baby card for her new great-nephew (hope that's right lol), I think I may have posted a similar card to this for a baby girl too, I think they're really sweet the paper is SOOOOOOO cute and getting really hard to come by now, so I'm rationing it for special cards lol. Sorry the flash has come out really bright on this but the ribbon goes all the way across, I can't remember where I got the ribbon from I think it was from a wedding invitation stand though and got 25m for £3!!!! how cool is that, needless to say I bought every colour they had while I was there lol. Right I think I've waffled on more than enough now so here is the card...

Supplies: 'Bundle of Joy' Stamps by Penny Black, 'Ben's Clothes Line' Paper by Flair Designs, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, Font from dafont.com
Extras: White Card, Blue Ribbon from Stash, Copics

Right I'm running massively behind now, only popped back on to check my e-mails and ended up messing with blog so thought might as well post something while I was on here, and haven't got any of my challenge cards done yet :-S (not entirely sure how many going to get done either as interview this afternoon, got to go to the job centre in the morning and then thursday night am at a concert, Alton Towers Friday, staying over in Manchester on Friday night so all day in the city and then a concert in the evening lol, and on Sunday... SLEEP lol don't think I'll be fit for anything else lol. Right well so much for a quick post... really am going now... XOX

Naming Day

Another quick (pre)post, still working my way through my orders, but hopefully should be able to get back to getting some challenges done by mid-next week - fingers crossed cos I miss doing them - gets me thinking alot more than usual lol and gets me doing different things rather than just the same old.

This card was one of my orders from last week. Naming card for the nephew of one of the girls in work. She's had a nightmare trying to get one in the shops and I think she was really pleased with it. Hope you all do too.

Close up of the teddy and the glittery star, I've adapted the stamp again, as he should have a Christmas hat on but that didn't really fit in (really must get round to doing a christmas card using this stamp so you can see the full stamp).

Supplies: 'Christmas Ted - Big Star' Stamp by Lili of the Valley, Paper by Flair Designs, Blue Card by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Ribbon, Blue Ink Pad, Promarkers

Right am typing this on saturday so had best get on because we're off out for a meal soon and I'm still in my jammies. XOX

This is what I've been up to...

Don't know where the last couple of days have gone, I've been busy making cards but they have mainly been variations on cards that I've made before, but thought I'd post them to prove I have been doing something lol. Hopefully will have more to post either later today or tomorrow all I've got to do is get them made lol.

Supplies: 'Flower Ruby' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Bundle of Joy' Stamp by Penny Black, Ribbon by Marks and Spencer and Bo Bunny, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: Printed Vellum, Hot Pink Card, White Card

This is another of the cards that I've made in the last few days, one of the girls in work wanted a wedding card, needed to keep this quite simple looking so decided to use the Lili of the Valley Challenge Sketch from a few weeks ago, and kept the colours to white and silver, am really pleased with how it's turned out.

Supplies: Sticker from the Paper Shop, Printed Vellum, White Card, Silver Card, White Ribbon, Gems

Right off to go and get a card done and hopefully make a start on a certain someone's 30th card lol. Oooo and going to have to catch up of True Blood too lol. XOX

Part 2

Right here's the rest of the post...

This afternoon was a bit of a rush, as I'd forgotten that the Lili of the Valley Challenge was now weekly, I only remembered when I was checking the blogs on my dinner, but fortunately managed to get the card finished, start to finish in an hour and a half - don't think I did half bad cos that included waiting for the ink to dry and I'm sure it knew I was in a rush and took longer than normal (thank goodness for flexi time and an early finish). Really like the way it's turned out (as usual nothing at all like I'd planned).

I coloured the image with my Promarkers (all except the face which I did with my Copics - I'm still working on the skin colours with the Promarkers lol) and then added some Doodlebug Lily White Sugar Coating, I meant to use my new chunky glitter but forgot - oh well something for next time.

Supplies: 'Baby's First Christmas' Stamp by Lili of the Valley, 'Winter Wonderland' Papers by Crafts House, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, Glitter by Doodlebug and Extras.. white card and pink pom-pom 'ribbon'

Anyways had best get on and try and get another card finished... XOX

4 mins to go...

Just a REALLY quick post cos I only have 4 mins to get the link on, this is my entry in this week's challenge on Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog, It's based on a sketch by Bev. I'll write a bit more in a bit, but for now time is of the essence lol...

Pixels

Just a quick post cos in the middle of tea.

Yay I've got my photo editing program installed so I can pixelate the photos of some of my scrapbook pages so I don't get in trouble with the owners of the babies lol. So I can finally show you the card/mini book that I made for a friend when she had her little girl.

I love these layered word albums, this one was done to make a mini album (but I have seen them made as cards too), it had pictures of her first week, and the usual date of birth, weight, mummy and daddy info.

The Front Page
The last page
The back cover
Supplies: MAMBI baby paper pad, Papermania clips and metal charms, Flowers, Ribbons, Gems
For something a bit different I added information about her star-sign, the chinese year she was born in, gem stone for the month etc etc which I know I had in the baby book my mum had made for me. Before she was born I gave her mum the idea to have everyone guess boy/girl, date of birth, time, weight. She then added future occupation. Her future god-father said next female PM or a lap-dancer, what was funny was that when I was looking up the info for the back page was that on the ideal occupations bit the first 2 listed are politics and entertainment. Not sure which is best of those two (I guess it depends on whose legs she's inherited) lol.
Right I'd best get going my tea awaits XOX

Pretty Pretty

Am having a bit of lazy evening today, absolutely knackered so thought a nice relaxing evening and an early night. Just finished painting my toenails (and if I'm honest half of my toes), hair time after posting this and then thinking a dvd in bed - maybe Enchanted (one of my favourites and not seen it in ages, first saw it on the plane home from Australia and kept laughing so much that the woman sat next to me ended up putting it on too).

Making a list of some stamp makes that I want to try and track down, and also need to do some research on some of the die-cutting machines - thinking that it's about time I invested in one so now just to work out what the best one for me to buy is. Getting excited too not long till Kerry's new stamps are out (www.ladybugcraftsink.co.uk), just ordered the Magnum (Cat) ones for now - they're sooooooo cute, and fingers crossed they'll be here for my week off so get a have a proper play with them - my supply of cards is now looking rather depleted (is that the word) so want to try and build that up if I get the chance.

Right best get some cards on... here are 2 of yesterday's cards for one of the girls in work who's Granddaughter and Nephew are getting Christened on Sunday.

Supplies: Penny Black Stamps, Christening printed Vellum, Blue CS and Ribbon

Supplies: Ruby Fairy Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Christening printed Vellum, Glitter, Pink CS & Ribbon

Had to show a close up of the glittery fairy wings - so pretty but then I'm slightly addicted to glittery and sparkly things so maybe I'm biased lol.

Anyways my DVD is calling me...

... more tomorrow or Wednesday XOX

Pig Tales

Had a few spare mins so thought I'd add a couple of pics, nope not cards or scrapbooking this time. Thought I'd add the pics of the piggy bank I painted and decorated for my friends little girl when she was born.

Thought it turned out really well (even if I do say so myself), love the glittery scrolls. XOX

Awwwwwww

Just a really quick post cos I'm off to bed now (got to be up in 6 hours :S) but just thought I'd post the photo of Saturday's card. (It arrived today so I should be safe to post it lol.

Supplies: Penny Black Transparent Stamp, Paper from my craft box (really old and not got a clue who it's by), Ribbon, White Card, Pink Ink Pad
Just got back from the cinema, went to see Date Night, it was OK but no where near as good as the trailer made it look, but was still fun. Glad the weather brightened up this afternoon/evening getting sick of the cold and clouds and rain (anyone else remember when May used to be scorching?) keeping fingers crossed for a nice weekend but might be asking for too much there lol. Another long day in work tomorrow and then not sure if I'm going to tidy or do some cards??? (I know the sensible answer and I also know what I want to do lol) but for now am off for a quick check of Facebook and e-mails then off to bed otherwise will never get up in the morning. XOX
