Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - Q for Quotes

Yay I finally got round to making something other than a card for my DT project yay

This week's challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is Q for Quotes I knew straight away that I wanted to use my 'Friendly Advice' Stamps - I love this quote - that comes from Ian Hobson Age 5 lol. And this is definitely right about Ian lol and I got to make a canvas using one of my favourite pictures.

I started by painting the canvas pale pink (because the plan was that the canvas was going to be in pinks but then I found my sequin ribbon and changed the colour scheme). I then decided to make a mess by using a toothbrush to flick paint over the canvas (and my quilt, blanket, towel, face (yes I flicked the toothbrush the wrong way lol)) and love the effect. I added the ribbons, made the snowflake, added the wording and a little photo corner to add a bit of shine.

No wonder I've been wondering where all the time has gone this week, I even 'made' my own little embellishment for the canvas. Painted a chipboard snowflake, then once that was dry I went through about 5 different glues trying to find one that would stick the gems to the paint, in the end I gave up and used my glossy accents

I had a bit of a disaster with the stamp as the white ink wouldn't show up on the purple card, and the paint marker wouldn't write over the ink lol, eventually switching the inks I managed to get some of the words to stamp ok so I could go over them with the paint marker and the rest I just had to write in the same style, but I think this works really well and meant that I could cut out the individual words and spread them down the side of the canvas rather than having to be a big block which I didn't think would work with this canvas.

Supplies: 'Friendly Advice' Stamps by Inkadinkado, Photo Corner by (I think) Papermania
Extras: Chipboard Snowflake, White, Pink & Purple Acrylic Paint, White Paint Marker, White Ink Pad, Purple Card, Ribbon from Stash, Sequin Ribbon from Stash, Gems, Glossy Accents

Sorry for all the waffle lol. Hope you join us this week and have fun with the challenge XOX

Cheeky Monkey

No don't worry I haven't disappeared - really don't know where the time is going have lists and lists of things to get done and of course spend more time making the lists than actually getting things done off them lol. On the plus side I'm finally feeling almost back to normal :)

We went to see James Blunt in Manchester last night, was really really good, loved the stage with all the light screens too. But I have to say I didn't like the shakey floor when everyone was stood up (we were on the upstairs bit) - really didn't like it - yes from the person that goes on all the rollar coasters and has done a sky dive lol. Knackered today though, really looking forward to a lazy weekend :)

Anyways just a little card today cos I've been busy making alot of mess for this week's Alphabet Challenge Design Team Project - but you'll have to wait till tomorrow to see that. For now I'm going to leave you with my really cute Denami Monkeys - I love them - perfect for cards for kids. They're little faces are just soooo cute :)

Love how the leaves have turned out, looking all shiny, and adds some texture too :)

Anyways I'm waiting for the football to finish so I can go and get my dad and brother, then going to go and put a DVD on in bed (well that's the plan - of course the football could go to extra time and penalties and end that lol) XOX

Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - P for Paper Piecing

Wow well I haven't got a clue where this week has gone, but yay it's nearly the weekend :)

And yes it's that time of the week, time for the new challenge over at Alphabet Challenge Blog this week is P for Paper Piecing!!! I was going to stamp an image and piece the image together but the night I was doing the card I couldn't get to my ink pad so I decided to go for making a whole image out of papers. This was something I used to do when I was little, I love the effects you can get and it's great for using up all those little scraps of paper. I used some shimmer chalks for the cloud and and the smoke from the chimney, and then added gems to all of the flowers on the paper I've used for the grass so there's plenty of sparkle there.

Supplies: Papers by October Afternoon, Bo Bunny, Making Memories, Chalk by Pebbles Inc, Rub-ons by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Gems

Right well I'm off to bed very soon (posting Thursday night) and still got to pack my bag for tomorrow, hope you like the card and take part in this week's challenge XOX

Chickie Time Again :)

Back again, thought I'd do a quick post before I do my pre-post for tomorrow - can you believe it's Friday tomorrow already. Really don't know where the week has gone. Early finish in work tomorrow yay :) and then off to Ian's friends tomorrow night for pizza mmmmmmmmm,  and then hopefully some time to get some crafting finished over the weekend :)

Anyways onto the card, I got to use another of my chickie stamps (told you I'd gone a bit mad buying them in the sales and there's still another couple that I haven't used yet lol) I knew I wanted to use this stamp for a Good Luck card - as sort of cheering you on sort of thing. And it just had to be pink!! Love it and love the textures of the different ribbons too - especially combined with the glitter on the image and the gems along the top

And the elephant - cos Ian asked me what I wanted for Valentine's Day and I replied that I wanted an elephant lol - yes it's been pointed out that I meant a real one lol. But how cute is he - Fred :)

And the tulips starting to open up :)

Right I'd best get going otherwise I'm not going to get anything finished tonight and the list of jobs for tomorrow is already full lol XOX

For My Valentine

Been feeling alot better today :) (hoping not just jinxed myself lol) So glad cos it meant I got to make Ian's Valentine's Day card, I'm made up with how it turned out, all came together when I found the tickets in the craft box lol

Love these little tickets, I got them in the sales - these ones were perfect to use with the 7Gypsies stamp that I got in the sale too. And found this button in my button box, I had to get my Dad to cut the shank off the back (I would have done it myself but I'd have probably lost a finger or two lol)

Glossy Accents for Magnum's nose. And some glitter on the heart and the box (well I'd resisted putting any on his Anniversary Card so couldn't resist again lol)

I loved this challenge, I knew straight away which paper I was going to use and which stamp which always makes things come together quicker :) I was looking for some ribbon when I came across this reversible one that I'd bought ages ago so I had to add in a bit of pink.

Love You Bearly

I'm back, well the good news is that I haven't got a chest infection - instead the doctor thinks I've got one of those yucky viruses that is going round so I have got to rest, take paracetomols, keep fluids up and 'have a couple of duvet days' (her words not mine!!! I love it) my breathing does feel a bit easier today just wish I could stop coughing.

Anyways a little card to share while I'm waiting to get some more done :) How cute are the little bears - the stamps were free with Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine - how cool - love free stuff that you can actually use. Got to use my nesties again, I love them they're just sooooooo quick and don't keep having to cut everything smalled and smaller until it's even. Still only got the 2 sets I got with my Christmas money so I'm thinking that it must be time to treat myself to some more lol.

Anyways coloured the bears up with my promarkers, the flowers up with the copics, added some glitter to Rosie's bow, glossy accents to the roses. As the image is quite small I kept the layout quite simple and used paper with a small pattern too, and some gorgeous velvet ribbon for a bit of texture.

Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - N for Numbers

I really don't know where this week has gone, I can't remember the last time that I went a whole week without a post. Well hopefully football will finally come in useful and give me some time to get some cards finished.

But now onto this week's Alphabet Challenge Blog Challenge - N for Numbers - What a perfect challenge, I was torn whether to do a kids' card or an 18th/21st card, as it was I needed to make a 21st card so that decided that lol. I decided that I wanted to keep the card quite simple with no patterned paper instead I stamped the '21' all over the base of the card using grey ink and then cooloured in pastel ink and then covered in glitter. I stamped the image and sentiment on one piece of card to help avoid clutter, and rather than mounting on card or paper I used a pink ink pad to edge the card. I added some more glitter to Nikki's party gress (I so want that dress lol) and added the ribbon and a big bow for added girly-ness

And trying to show off the glitter, all of the numbers were coloured and glittered.

Supplies: 'Winestool Nikki' and Sentiment and Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Ribbon by Anna Griffin (yes Pami I got them too lol), Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: Grey Ink Pad, White Card, Pink Ink Pad, Copics, Promarkers

Well that's it for me for today, but there's football on the telly this weekend so that'll give me a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday to get some cards done so I'll actually have something to post next week lol - hope you enjoyed your break from me lol XOX
