Penny Black Bears are Back :)

It's our friends' little girl's First Birthday in just over a week (I think - best check that lol) I'd meant to use my Penny Black Bear Blank Stamps for her new baby card but I couldn't find them at the time so I made sure that I found them in time for her first birthday card. I was just going to put the number '1' in one of the squares but that meant only using one of the bears and he would have been lonely so I spelt the word instead so he could have a friend on the card lol.

I found all the free papers that have come with my craft magazines over the years - I had a folder full of them so I've been trying to use some of them up, the colours of this paper was perfect for a girly card, reminds me of raspberry ripple ice cream lol.

Supplies: 'Bear Blank 2' & 'Bear Blank 3' Stamps by Penny Black, 'Simple Pleasures' Paper by Kay Miller Designs (free with Scrapbook Magazine), Promarkers, Paint Marker, Raspberry Ink Pad, White Ribbon

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge....

Penny Black Saturday Challenge August - Double the Trouble (use 2 different Penny Black Images)

Right two more posts to go... XOX

Time to take it easy

Yay the sun is finally out (well it was lol), managed to get some crafting done this morning including a scrapbook page from start to finish - now that doesn't happen very often so am very appreciative when pages just seen to come together without too much work. Also managed to get this card done for one of our friends. I kept the colours quite simple but couldn't resist adding a bit of glitter to the front of the high-tops.

And a close-up - I love this stamp - it just reminds me of summer, probably from travelling round Australia lugging my backpack round lol. But also of kicking shoes off at the beach or the park

Supplies: 'The High-Top' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Serendipity' Papers by Hot Off the Press (free with Scrapbook Magazine), White Ribbon, Pink Ink Pad, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges...

Right will be back in a mo with some more creations... thought best get them all on while I've got the chance because over to my boyfriend's for a few days next week and will probably forget to post and will miss the challenge deadlines so I will apologise in advance for boring you with so many posts in one day lol XOX

Uh-oh... The BIG 3-0....

Back again as promised, are you proud of me for not getting distracted in those few mins between posts lol.

Anyways a break from the Christmas cards as one of my friends had a big birthday - yep she turned 30 (obviously when I get there next year it won't be a big birthday - though I think I will be having a 20-10th birthday instead lol. In my head I don't think I've even got to 20 yet lol. Anyways I used the mo manning image perfect for big birthdays with the message inside reading - 'it's no good sulking' lol. I then used the balloon from LCI Magnum Add-ons set and the masking technique to add some balloons to the image. Lots of glitter too - well it is one of my cards lol. The colours were picked by Ian cos Sarah is from Norwich - hope she likes it :)

Supplies: 'Alissa' Paper by Bo Bunny, 'Jill is Two' Stamp by Mo Manning, 'Magnum Add-ons' Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Ribbon from Stash, Yellow Ink Pad, Copics, Promarkers, Gems

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge...

Right think that's me done for now... off to get my list done and then have a go at my picture frame, though just been watching Kirstie's Homemade Christmas and want to do some embroidery lol (I don't know why cos I've got a cross-stitch that I started about 15 years ago and still haven't finished it lol. Ah well I'm sure I'll get it done eventually lol.

And incase I'm not back on here before the big day, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas XOX

New Arrivals and I'm back again - hopefully properly this time (on exploer this time)

Hi, I'm back AGAIN, getting really fed up of computers, browsers and the internet - can't seem to get all 3 of them to work at the same time - but have done some messing round and have got blogger working again on explorer so fingers crossed - really hope i've no just jinxed it lol.

Got a few cards to get done this week - in between revision - first exam on monday eeeeeeeeek terrified doesn't even come close.

But for now here's a card that I made for my friends who had a little girl at the end of August.

Double-fold to add the date etc :) and to try and show off the glittery vellum but it didn't really work - looks really pretty and sparkly in real life

Supplies: Stamp by Lili of the Valley, Vellum by Papermania, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug. Also Copics, Promarkers, Pink Ribbon, Pink Ink Pad

And here she is having a cuddle from Auntie Helen

Right off to get a million things done before college tonight, then revision and cards start tomorrow. XOX

And at Long-last a post :)

Wow I can't believe it's been so long, computer problems, then when the computer had had a reinstall it seemed to have taken a dislike to blogger and wouldn't let me do anything, hopefully this is now finally sorted (the photos are on the draft so fingers crossed), then had a mad busy month and a bit in work. Work has finished so I'm back to job hunting but hopefully I'll have time to get some cards and scrapping done too, but I'm also trying to teach myself double entry bookkeeping :S not got my head quite round the basics yet but i'm finding it interesting (yep I'm that sad lol), and trying to get a list together of everything we're going to need for our first house so I can get as much together before we move and have no money lol. I think that's all I'm up to at the moment lol.

Anyways I've got a few cards and things to post that I've done the last few weeks so I'll be posting them as and when I can, first up is my entry in the Ladybug Crafts Ink July Challenge, which Kerry kindly posted on the site for me. This was Kate's 30th Card, she is a marine biologist (I think lol) unfortunately I didn't have any dolphin stamps and couldn't find any that I liked but then I remembered Mermaid Nikki by Ladybug Crafts Ink. She was pertfect and fitted into the marine theme that I wanted.

I coloured Nikki and the numbers up with my promarkers and copics, added about a ton of glitter (doodlebug sugar-coating) then added 2 layers of glossy accents (the first layer still looked really bumpy cos of the glitter). The seaweed was cut out from coordinates card and then decorated with glitter and glossy accents, based on a scrapbook page I made years ago :)

I also decided to make a canvas to go with the card, but didn't have a picture to go in it so decided to make a picture frame instead. I added a little drawing to fill in the gap where the photo will go so it looked a bit better when I sent it. I painted the canvas with acrylic paint (I had a bit of a mix up with the paint and added a load of pearly pain by mistake, but it added a nice pearly sheen to the canvas - I painted it in wavy lines so in reallife there's a wavy pattern on it). I added more seaweed to match the card.

I added glitter and glossy accents to the seaweed and added more glossy accents and gems to the canvas. I also stamped an extra couple of fish from the mermaid stamp and cut them out to add to the canvas. I added another fish to the seaweed.

Supplies: 'Mermaid Nikki' and Sentimental Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Coordinates Card, Glossy Accents, Doodlebug Sugar-Coating, Gems, Glimmer mist, Acrylic Paints

Right I think that's enough waffle for me - don't want to over-do it on my first day back lol XOX

It's been a busy week, I've had an interview, been to the theatre (to see mamma mia - it was fab) been to the Trafford Centre and bought all kinds, and been for a really yummy meal and had a catch up with my cousin's wife, who I used to work with.

Think I should have paid more attention in Art

Wow, been a long week lol (yep I'm saying that when am 2 days into a 3 day week (but I work in payroll and it's the busiest time of the month lol) Anyways this is just a quick post cos I've still got to pack my bag for the weekend and sort out the bits and pieces to get my auntie's card done while I'm at Ian's.

Anyways thought I'd try something new with today's card - a card with no stamped image!!! I know an idea popped into my head to do a support card with a bra on cos I love the saying that a bra is like a good friend...always offers support, makes you look great & is always close to your heart. I didn't have a bra stamp so knew I had to draw it myself, but drew it straight onto the patterned paper to give the paper piecing effect and then added a bit of glitter to the trim. Not bad since I don't think I've drawn anything since I left school lol.

WoW

Yay I can finally upload pictures properly again (thank you Ian - mwah) and yay I got my Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge card finished this week (have missed loads recently - very naughty of me lol) anyway this week's challenge is White on White - have to say I love other people's white on white cards but I've never really liked my own and tend to avoid the theme. But I have about a million new baby cards to make this year and want to try and keep them all different so I don't get too bored of them lol. This one is for Ian's cousin, who has just had a little girl 'Evie'. There was also a couple of Embossing Challenges which I think is perfect for white cards. I used a couple of my embossing folders and created a patchwork effect. (the flower is white but has come out creamy) added lots of glitter to the image and some shimmer chalks (though they haven't really shown up on the photos).

A close-up of the glitter

Happy Liverpool Christmas

Time still seems to be running away and I've still got a list a mile long of things to be done lol. But I managed to get a few of them crossed off today.

I should probably also explain the post title - some of my family used to come up to Liverpool for Christmas and now cos of work and little kids they come up a bit later and the night is now known as Liverpool Christmas lol. So last night was 'Liverpool Christmas'. Was really good, and good to catch up with them all.

Anyways onto the card, I wanted to make sure I entered the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge cos I'd missed a few cos of running out of time. Anyways this weeks challenge was stitching and straightaway I had the idea of stitching a flower stem and using a chipboard flower. Wishing whoever is stealing days out of my calendar would put them back - can't believe it's March already. Just a really quick post cos I've still got loads to get done (probably cos I spend more time making my lists than actually getting things done, lol.

This is a leaving card for the one of the girls who used to work with Ian, the wording was from Ian, I think it was cos they think it's funny the way she says Bubbles. I've had these papers ages and hadn't got round to using them I came across them while having a tizz cos I couldn't find the papers I wanted lol. Some fab green ribbon to finish it off and contrast with the pink.

Anyways onto the card, I got to use another of my chickie stamps (told you I'd gone a bit mad buying them in the sales and there's still another couple that I haven't used yet lol) I knew I wanted to use this stamp for a Good Luck card - as sort of cheering you on sort of thing. I loved this challenge, I knew straight away which paper I was going to use and which stamp which always makes things come together quicker :) I was looking for some ribbon when I came across this reversible one that I'd bought ages ago so I had to add in a bit of pink.

Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - N for Numbers

I really don't know where this week has gone, I can't remember the last time that I went a whole week without a post. Well hopefully football will finally come in useful and give me some time to get some cards finished.

But now onto this week's Alphabet Challenge Blog Challenge - N for Numbers - What a perfect challenge, I was torn whether to do a kids' card or an 18th/21st card, as it was I needed to make a 21st card so that decided that lol. I decided that I wanted to keep the card quite simple with no patterned paper instead I stamped the '21' all over the base of the card using grey ink and then cooloured in pastel ink and then covered in glitter. I stamped the image and sentiment on one piece of card to help avoid clutter, and rather than mounting on card or paper I used a pink ink pad to edge the card. I added some more glitter to Nikki's party gress (I so want that dress lol) and added the ribbon and a big bow for added girly-ness

And trying to show off the glitter, all of the numbers were coloured and glittered.

Supplies: 'Winestool Nikki' and Sentiment and Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Ribbon by Anna Griffin (yes Pami I got them too lol), Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: Grey Ink Pad, White Card, Pink Ink Pad, Copics, Promarkers

Well that's it for me for today, but there's football on the telly this weekend so that'll give me a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday to get some cards done so I'll actually have something to post next week lol - hope you enjoyed your break from me lol XOX
