Oh Joy Football AGAIN

Well there's been football on - yawn - and now rugby - yawn - and then more football - yawn. Really not fair that all the schedules get re-arranged for sports. Ah well will just have to start working my way through the DVD collection lol. So far have watched some Gossip Girl, then Music and Lyrics, onto the The Wedding Date now... but of course the plus side of the sport (and the rainy days) is that I've managed to get some crafting done, 2 cards and 1 and a half scrapbook pages. Couldn't get the title right on the second one so I've left that one for now - hoping that inspiration will strike by tomorrow when the football is back on lol.

Anyways here is the first of today's cards - 30th Birthday Card for One of our friends, it was his party last weekend and we took him to see John Bishop in Chester (brilliant if anyone is thinking of going to see him) and get him a pinata full of sweeties but his birthday isn't till next week so he's had to wait for his card. I'm not overly happy with the card (just when it doesn't match the picture you have in your head) but Ian likes it so I will resist the urge to pull it apart lol.

Supplies: 'Football Jack' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Thickers by American Crafts, Rub-ons by Doodlebug, White Card, Blue Ink Pad, Ribbons, Copics, Promarkers

Fave Lili of the Valley

Just a quick post now, I spent nearly the whole afternoon sorting out my scrapbooking papers - as best as I can cos I've ran out of storage and can't find more of the ones that I have doh. Anyways here is quick card, I can't remember who the papers are by they were just lose in my stash but the stamp is one of my favourite Lili of the Valley Stamps and think it's definitely my most used - perfect for birthdays and retirements for those awkward men lol.

Quickie

Just a quick post, had a busy weekend of card making but can't post those cards yet because I need to find my camera to take pictures - but I've made an engagement card for 2 of our friends (Matt FINALLY proposed to Emma - so congratulations to them), I've also made a get better soon card for Neil, who had his leg broken days before their first baby was due, and a New Baby card for Neil and Steph who had a little girl this morning. So congratulations (and get well soon) to them all - I'll get their cards on this week :)

Anyways this is a birthday card for one of the blokes that works with Ian, it's a digi stamp I got free from Bugaboo, but it had to be adapted to include Phil's tash lol.

Supplies: Digi Stamp by Bugaboo, Papers by Prima, Ribbon by KI Memories, Snow Writer, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Gems, Glossy Accents, Ink Pad, Copics and Promarkers

Thank you for all the welcome back messages - it's lovely to be back on here, showing off the crafty stuff I've been up to :) XOX

Favourite Stamp

Ooops wasn't meant to take me this long to do another post, I'm not working at the moment and still can't seem to find time to do anything lol, shouldn't complain really but the job hunting is really getting me down at the moment especially as the longer it takes to find something the longer it'll be before we can get a house, but any how am sure the right job is out there somewhere... lol.

Anyways I've managed to get a few cards done the last few weeks and have also been getting stuck into my scrapbook - still got thousands of australia pictures to scrap so I'm starting with them (spent about 4 hours sorting them into order last night (yawn) lol. But anyway onto today's card - this was for one of Ian's mate's birthdays he's in the police and think he was made up with the image - it's one of my favourites and the challenge over at Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog is to use your favourite stamp :)

Getting a Head Start

Hello, how nice have the last 2 weekends been!?! Makes such a nice change to have some good weather at the weekend instead of when I'm stuck in work lol. Missed most of last weekend in bed with a migraine but was out yesterday as my Dad was moving his boat down from up by widnes to Liverpool and he wanted us to take pictures. So we went up to take pictures of them going through the lock onto the river, then we headed to Riverside Drive and sat by the river and waited for them to come past, then went and met them at the marina. Was such a nice day for it.

Anyways got chance to get a couple of cards done today, so here is the first one (the second is my design team card for this week so you'll have to wait for Friday for that one lol) but it means that I've got a couple of the birthday cards for the next few weeks done (still a couple to get done - hopefully will have some time over the next few long weekends). Anyways this card is for my Mum's cousin who is going to be 40 in a few weeks lol. Kerry of Ladybug Crafts Ink had made a card using the numbers sitting on Magnum's hand and it gave me the idea of using them as balloons - I stamped the string and knot of the balloon stamp and then added the numbers and a few fineliner lines. His other hand looked a bit empty so I added the cake - after all what's a birthday without cake lol :)

Supplies: 'Add-on Magnum', 'Magnum Add-ons' & Sentimental Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Slice and Frances Meyer, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Card by DCWV
Extras: Gems, Promarkers, Copics, Glossy Accents

Alphabet Challenge Blog - M for Men

Can you believe a week has gone by already and time for my (pre)post for Alphabet Challenge Blog - this week the theme is M for Men so I thought I would get a head start on Father's Day woop (5 months in advance how organised am I?!?)

I've had these stamps for a good while now (I think I may have bought them in the sale last year) but they'll definitely be coming out again cos I really liked colouring it up. The papers were just perfect for this gardening stamp, and the raffia carried on the theme. I did think it needed a bit of sparkle though so out came my nail heads - love them - these are brown ones which toned in perfectly with the colours.

And a close-up to show the off the nice veggies

Supplies: Stamps by Buzzcraft, Nailheads by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Helz Cuppleditch
Extras: Raffia, White Card, Beige Ink Pad, Glossy Accents, Copics, Promarkers

Hope you all have fun with the challenge... I'm off to bed now, yay Friday by the time you read this - off out for tea too (postponed from last weekend cos we were both still ill) can't wait :) XOX

Favourite Five Cards of 2010

Just a little post to say Happy New Year to everyone, and to thank you for all the visits and lovely comments you have made during the year.

I've got a couple of cards to post but I think I'll leave them till the weekend when I have a bit of spare time so for now Debby has now got a post to link your Favourite Five Cards of the Year 2010, now this was tough (mainly cos I couldn't find the pictures of 3 cards I wanted to put on so here are 5 from my top 8 lol.

Card one had to be there cos of the red and white dotty paper lol, and this is one of my favourite images.

I love how this card turned out, this photo doesn't really show it up but the frogs are covered in glossy accents so they look all slimey, love how the paper reminds me of pond weed too so it all fits

A not-a-square card (have to say these were few and far between lol), but really like how this turned out.

This is one of my favourite stamps, I love Buttercup, she's sooooooo cute. This was made for Kerry (who's why I started blogging) who lent me a stamp, I think this was only my second attempt at a gate-fold card too, and I love that paper.

This one had to go on, I love how it turned out even though it's quite busy compared to my usual style lol, I love the papersm the buttons, the flowers and the sentiment. Really must try and make some more 'busier' cards next year rather than my usual keep it simple style lol.

So they're my favourites (sort of - ask me again later today and I'd probably pick a completely different 5 lol). So I'm going to post this now quick before I change my mind lol

Right off to get in the shower and get my stuff sorted to head back home later this afternoon

Happy New Year Everyone XOX

A Not Very Christmassy Christmas Card

This is my Dad's Christmas card, he doesn't 'do' Christmas at all really, so no point doing a traditional christmas card instead he normally gets either funny ones or ones with boats on, as he goes sailing. I did use christmas papers to piece together the scene and also added some snowflake stickers so it is a bit christmassy, the stickers have a bit of sparkle in them too and have added a gem in place of a flag at the top of the boat. Love making little scenes like this, they're so quick to do and can use up lots of scraps that would normally be stored for months and then eventually end up in the bin lol

Extras: Turquoise Ink Pad, White Card, Gem, Snowflake Stickers

In one of those moods

Yep am in one of those moods, haven't really managed to get anything done as I've been calling agencies back - argh getting very frustrated keep getting told that I have a very strong CV but there's so few jobs out there have barely had any interviews, really hope things pick up after Christmas cos meant to be saving ready for a house, well a holiday and then a house lol. Room still needs cleaning and tidying so can make a start on the decorations too and got to get showered and get dinner and get ready to go out - keeping fingers crossed the roads to Ian's are clear.

Anyways I'll stop myself there lol, another card I made the other day, for my cousin's boyfriend, bit boring - football/men's card lol - so I couldn't resist adding a bit of glitter to the numbers and some glossy accents to the football.

Another 70th

Just a really quick post, I was asked to make another 70th Card, so out came the 'zooming along' stamp (I'm going to treat myself to some new stamps after Christmas I think) but I love this stamp though really am going to have to colour it in a different colour next time, the challenge was to add glitter and glitz - something of a challenge on a male card but I got plenty on there just can't seem to get the blimmin' stuff to show up on the photo lol. I also added a few nail heads (my new favourite embellishments lol) to add a bit of extra sparkle.

Supplies: 'Zooming Along' Stamp by Lili of the Valley, Sentimental Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Paper Pizazz, Card by DCWV, Nail Heads by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Copics, Promarkers

(the glitter isn't really showing up at all, but it's all over the numbers, the windscreen, the goggles, the statue, the scarf, the door handle etc etc etc

Right I'd best get on as I'm still in my PJs need to get a shower and pack my bag, and might try and get another card posted, and need to plan my next card... XOX

Feeling Bleugh

Just a really quick post cos I'm feeling icky (hopefully *touch wood* getting better but still feeling rather yuck) I'd meant to post this yesterday but couldn't find the energy to concentrate on anything for more than about 5 mins lol.

Anyways this was my uncle's 50th birthday, I've tried to keep it nice and simple though couldn't resist adding the nailheads and epoxy dots for a bit of sparkle since I didn't think I'd get away with glitter lol. He supports Everton (ick) so I had to keep the main colour as blue.

Supplies: Stamp by Papermania, 'Nightlight' Papers by October Afternoon, Epoxy Dots and Nailheads by Ladybug Crafts Ink
Extras: Ribbon from Stash, White Card, Copics, Promarkers, Blue Ink Pad

Penny for the Guy

Just a really quick post as got to post another card now too lol. So straight onto the card...

Was having a bit of a panic with this card as I don't have that many stamps for men and those I have got are more suitable for younger cards, then remembered this Lili of the Valley stamo that hadn't been out in ages.

Happy 30th Birthday Ian xox

It's Ian's 30th today, so this is just a quick post before we go out, and I can now post Ian's card now he's seen it lol.

So here it is...

And the front view...

And a close up of the cake complete with 'chocolate sauce' lol, this is the cake that comes with the 'Add-on Magnum' by Ladybug Crafts Ink, but think it looks good by itself.

And a close up of the shaker bit, I stuck the numbers on the front of the shaker as I couldn't find a stamp that I liked and was suitable to put 'in' it. But really pleased with how it turned out, makes a fab noise.

Supplies: Cake Stamp from 'Add-on Magnum' set by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers from 'Boldly Blue Co-Ordinations Pack' by Doodlebug, Blue Card by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Sticker from Stash, Micro-beads, Promarkers, Copics, Glossy Accents

Also check out Kerry's baby cards (link to her blog on both side bars) which I 'helped' with lol. Love when something gives you that spark to get cards done when you're having one of those days lol. Right best get going XOX

PS Happy 30th Birthday Ian xox

Queues Queues Queues

Wow what a 'busy' day it's been today. We were up at silly o'clock - I know during a week off :o( but I was bribed with a McDonalds Breakfast lol. Anyways everything took longer than should today and am knackered now.

And what was worse was I came home with no new toys to play with (Ian has a new phone to play with), had been looking at Netbooks but couldn't find one that fitted the right balance of price and computer-y stuff, and was also pretty lol. So will have to keep looking on that one. But my stamps from Kerry (Ladybug Crafts Ink) arrived this morning :) got some of the Magnum cat ones - they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute, can't wait to get some cards made with them. But in the meantime here is the card I made for Father's Day....

Supplies: Card Kit free with Magazine, including the papers and the 'Hot Diggity Dog' by Andrea Jayne chipboard images
I was going to do one of my double-fold cards (anyone else make them like I do??? think most I've seen have been easel cards but I haven't managed to make one of them and have them work and look OK) but anyway thought that the double-fold type would confuse him and he'd likely manage to pull half of it off - bless him lol.
Anyways thinking that I deserve an early night now... XOX
