Fancy Drawers

Sorry for the wait, but I finally got my gems to finish them off lol so can finally show you all my drawers lol. The drawers are from Ikea - the wooden ones that you have to nail together (TOP TIP make sure that you build it on a firm surface, I started making mine in the living room on the carpet and got incredibly frustrated (understatement there lol) cos it just wouldn't work) Anyways it was eventually put together and then months and months later I got round to decorating them...

I painted it up in white and cerise and then used some paper by Making Memories that is actually a giant sticker sheet so when I punched the flowers out they were already sticky which made things alot less messy lol. And then a week later I added the gems, I wanted 3 different shades of pink which caused the delay lol.

And a close up of the flowers and the three shades of pink gems

Supplies: Gems by Doodlebug, Sticker Paper by Making Memories
Extras: Drawers from Ikea, White & Pink Acrylic Paint, Flower Punch

I would like to enter this project in the following challenge...

For Fun Challenges - Anything Goes

Right that's it for me tonight had to get some pink in after all the green lol but off to get my to-do list done now. Hope you liked the drawers, have got another set in the process of been decorated but the idea I had in my head isn't working so they'll be along when inspiration strikes lol, been busy making mini canvases for presents for some of my friends, they're like the teeny canvas that I made last week (here) so I hope that they'll like them and atleast they're that small that no one can say they haven't got anywhere to put them lol XOX

Colour Wheel Challenge

Back home now, so glad that we were down at Ian's this weekend cos we got snow!!! Think almost the whole country has had it now but we never really get snow at home so it's still a novelty for me lol. We did actually get some snow here last night (think we may have managed half a cm but it's pretty much gone boo), still freezing cold though and if that's not an excuse to stay inside and make some cards and things I don't know what is lol. So I've gotten a few cards done and have made a mini canvas for a christmas present, got to try and get hold of some more tomorrow so can get the rest made.

Anyways onto today's card, this is for the 5th Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge - the challenge is based on a colour wheel, you had to find your favourite colour and then use the colour opposite, so my favourite colour is pink so I had to use green as green is opposite pink on the colour wheel (all will become clear if you take a look at the colour wheel (here) ) I have to say green is not my favourite colour at all, and I tend to only use it in small amounts with other colours or when specifically asked for a card in green.

This is possibly my first card with lace on it, mainly because I only found my lace last week during a clear-out, I made a little lace flower to finish this off, I've not pulled the thread too tight as I needed the card to fit in the envelope and my first attempt was a bit bulky.

And a bit of decoration for the inside too

Supplies: 'Ironing Nikki' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Making Memories (I think), Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Copics, Promarkers, Green Ink Pads, Gems, Lace from Stash, Flock

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge 5 - Colour Wheel Challenge

Right I'd best get on, got another mini canvas that I want to get finished tonight and then make a list of what else I need to get made before Christmas (which I'll probably start panicking before even got half way through). XOX

Brrrrrrrr

Are you bored of me yet lol - hop not cos I've got another 2 cards to post after this one, then you'll have some peace over the weekend lol.

Are you impressed no pink!!! Seem to have gone abit overboard with the pink lately kept sneaking in everywhere lol (well a little bit on the image I've just spotted but none on the paper and resisted using my pink ribbon that's been on everything lately lol. The snowflakes were from the papershop in the sale and there were masses of them in the pack so be prepared to see lots of them lol. You can't really see but there's glitter edging the mountains and Magnum and Lily's Santa hats, their scarfs and the bits of snow at the bottom and glossy accents on Magnum's nose.

Robyn's Debut

I can't believe that the Ladybugs are up to their 4th challenge already (and yay not missed one yet lol), I got this stamp in my latest order from Ladybug Crafts Ink, so have only had it for a couple of weeks and yep it's inked up already!!! Not like me at all I normally hang on to them for months lol so this is my first Robyn Stamp (though I'm sure that won't last long lol).

The challenge was to follow Michele's Sketch, I adapted it a bit as the image was on an oval (the plan was to use a different image cut into an oval but it just wouldn't come together so I decided to use the Robyn Stamp which fitted perfectly into the circle - another hand cut scalloped circle (nope I hadn't kept a template from last time, doh, though it was a lot quicker this time - and a cuttlebug is on my Christmas List lol), and I've now just realised this is almost the same layout as I used for the last challenge, oh well, atleast I've got different papers lol. I also adapted the bit across the bottom to put one piece of ribbon and borrowed Kerry's idea of putting rows of gems across in place of the other strips, I put these onto the white card as they looked a bit lost on the patterned paper. Anyways here's the card...

Supplies: 'Birthday Cake Robyn' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Forever Friends' Papers, Card by DCWV, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Gems, Ribbon from Stash, Promarkers, Copics, Glossy Accents, Purple Ink Pad

My Favouritist Penguin

A round of applause please as I have finished (start to finish finished aswell - I hadn't cheated and made cards I'd already planned or prepped) 5 (yep FIVE) cards tonight, and didn't even start till gone 7 so not bad going for 3 hours work (have spent that on one card before now lol)!!!! So be prepared to be inundated (or however it's spelt) with them over the next 2 days cos they were mainly challenge ones and closing dates are coming up lol.

Anyways onto the first of the cards, this is my second favourite of the lot, it should be my first favourite because it's using one of my favourite stamps that I managed to get in the Elzybells closing down sale yay :) and also using some of my favourite papers by Crafts House, I love the colours of them and that they're all pearly so they're perfect for christmas cards because of the shimmer, and I've also added a bit of bling, and used the snow writer to make the snowballs a bit more 3D and then topped them off with some glitter.

Supplies: 'Juggling Penguin' Stamp by Elzybells, Sentiment Stamp by Lili of the Valley, 'Winter Wonderland' Papers by Crafts House, Snow Writer by Deco Art, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug

Teeny Weeny Tiny Scrapbook Canvas

How cute and sweet is this?!? I'd bought these mini canvases over a year ago I got 4 of them and they even came on their own little easels. Cos they're so small I'd not been able to think what to do with them so they'd sat in the drawer for ages. I found some index prints and thought I would try and make a mini scrapbook page and this is what I came up with...

I had to put this one on to show the size of the canvas, it's just 7x7cm and the photos across the bottom are 1.5x1cm!!!

Supplies: 'Smitten Hearts' Pillow Stickers by K & Company
Extras: Pink Acrylic Paint, Ribbons from Stash

And Another 70th

Another quick post and another 70th Birthday Card lol wow can't believe the amount of them I've made lately. I thought I'd have a change from the 'zooming along' stamp - I think I may have over-used it a bit lately - and decided to finally use one of my Penny Black Bear Blanks, I bought them months and months ago ready to do new baby cards but none have arrived yet lol, anyway they were sitting there and had one of those penny drops moments of hang-on-I-can-use-them-for-ages-too lol duh lol. Went for a bit of a different colour scheme too, don't think ever done a turquoise and orange card, or even scrapbook layout. Fortunately I have a massive stash of buttons and was able to find these to match the papers.

Supplies: 'Bear Blank' Stamp by Penny Black, Sentiment Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Orange Paper by My Mind's Eye, Card by DCWV, Other Paper from Stash, Buttons by Bo Bunny and Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Orange Ink Pad, Copics, Promarkers, Fineliner

I would like to enter the card in the following challenge...

Right the computer is about to be commandeered now (is that the right word??) XOX

Another 70th

Just a really quick post, I was asked to make another 70th Card, so out came the 'zooming along' stamp (I'm going to treat myself to some new stamps after Christmas I think) but I love this stamp though really am going to have to colour it in a different colour next time, the challenge was to add glitter and glitz - something of a challenge on a male card but I got plenty on there just can't seem to get the blimmin' stuff to show up on the photo lol. I also added a few nail heads (my new favourite embellishments lol) to add a bit of extra sparkle.

Supplies: 'Zooming Along' Stamp by Lili of the Valley, Sentimental Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Papers by Paper Pizazz, Card by DCWV, Nail Heads by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: White Card, Copics, Promarkers

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge...

(the glitter isn't really showing up at all, but it's all over the numbers, the windscreen, the goggles, the statue, the scarf, the door handle etc etc etc

Right I'd best get on as I'm still in my PJs need to get a shower and pack my bag, and might try and get another card posted, and need to plan my next card... XOX

Sparkley Doodles

Managed to get another couple of my Australia pictures scrapbooked :) and have made a start on decorating the first set of drawers, have kept them quite (very) simple and just need to find my gems to finish them off then can post the pics tomorrow or Wednesday.

I love these pages even though there is glitter EVERYWHERE! The challenge was to doodle, I decided that I didn't want to just doodle with my paint markers like I've done before, and instead doodled the pattern with my glue pen/marker left it to dry and then added the gold glitter which looks really fab and sparkley against the black. I also glittered the frames of the photos, and doodled around the edges of the cocktail recipes. The photos were taken at a fab little cocktail bar, down lots of side streets with just a little tiny sign by the door, thank goodness I had a local showing me round lol.

And page 2 of the double page (forgot to take pictures of the 2 together)

Supplies: Card by Doodlebug
Extras: Gold Glitter, Glue Pen, Australia Punch, Chipboard Letter

Autumn Skies

Bit of a different card for me today, no stamped image!!!! (and that wasn't even the challenge lol!) the challenge was to make a card or project using autumn colours which I think I've covered here lol, I got to use some more of my favourite Vintage Carnival Papers and a sketch challenge from months ago that I never got round to doing at the time but I found it scribbled on a bit of paper when I was tidying earlier in the week and as soon as I saw it the card practically made itself. So easy to do, this the whole thing took about 15 mins start to finish (and that included trying to find one of the papers that had been mis-filed under Harvest Spice tut tut, think I need to have a sort through of the papers lol) Anyways I inked the edges of all the papers and the edges of the card with bronze ink so it has a bit of a shimmer and then added some buttons to the tree to finish it all off.

Supplies: 'Vintage Carnival' Papers by Bo Bunny
Extras: White Card, Bronze Ink Pad, Buttons from Stash

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Autumn Skies (Autumn Colours)

Hopefully this week I'm finally going to get round to decorating my mini wooden drawer units that I've had for several years and still haven't got round to decorating them, and I was looking at Pami's blog and the last couple of days and she has been making the most gorgeous gift boxes (here) and (here) and has even decorated a jar to keep all her flowers in, and I'm now itching to decorate them, not going for anything as fancy as Pam's but I'm sure it'll be an improvement on the bare wood lol

Right well I'm off to try and pick out some papers so I can make a start on decorating the drawers this week... wish me luck... XOX

All of my Favourite Things...

Wow think I've got everything on this card, think there's some definite Christmas Sparkle... got gems, glitter, glossy accents, pearly paper and some shiny irridesant dot stickers lol. And it's pink!!!! All of my favourite things, though I have to say half way through I was cursing the idea of putting gems on for all the baubles, especially the tiny ones at the bottom cos they kept sticking to my fingers instead of the paper lol, but I stuck at it (get it lol) and managed to get them all attached. And not only that but the scalloped circle was drawn and cut-out by hand!!!! Do I get a medal??? (really really really must invest in a die-cutting machine (but there's so many and get confused and give up everytime I look) and some nesties)

And time for a close-up, you can see a bit of the pattern on the pink background paper too (doesn't show up on the main picture because the pearl reflects the flash lol - but it's covered in snow flakes)

Supplies: 'Tracey & Reindeer' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Sentiment Stamp by Lili of the Valley, 'Winter Wonderland' Papers by Crafts House, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, Dot Stickers by Paperchase
Extras: White Card, Pink Ink Pads, Ribbon from Stash, Gems, Copics, Promarkers, Glossy Accents

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges...

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge 3 - Christmas Sparkle

The Pink Elephant Challenge 88 - followed their fabulous Sketch

Paper Cutz Challenge 68 - Christmas (with lots of BLING)

I love this card, the colours, bling and stamp all seem to have come together really well (even if I do say so myself, and love the sketch, will definitely be using it again (though maybe after I invest in a scalloped circle cutter of some sort cos don't fancy cutting that out again lol) XOX

PS nope couldn't resist and had to post it today lol

Sweet Snowman

Just a quick post for now, lots to get done, hoping that my e-mails will be working again by the time I finish this as I need an address off one of them argh - technology lol. Anyways another Christmas Card for me today :) I got to use my favourite snowman stamp again (he is just sooooooo cute - this photo doesn't do him justice lol, but atleast you can see the glitter this time - masses of it), and got to use some of my favourite Christmas Papers by October Afternoon. I couldn't find a red card to match the papers and colouring and all the other colours didn't look right, then I found some scraps of Kraft Card which I think works well, expecially with the edges inked in white :)

Supplies: 'Sweet Snowman' Stamp by Penny Black, Sentiment Stamp by Lili of the Valley, 'Good Cheer' Papers by October Afternoon, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug

Right OK really am going now XOX

Traditional Colours (for once)

Yay finally seem to be feeling better (hopefully - thank you for all the get well wishes) and managed to get a couple of cards done and Christmas cards at that! So feel like I'm getting somewhere with them now. And made up cos I know what I'm going to do for my Dad's Christmas Card (he normally gets shop-bought ones cos he's so hard to think of something that he might like/appreciate) so I'm going to try and get that made over the weekend  :)

I got these papers a few weeks ago, not my usual colour scheme lol, but I love the Crafts House papers, all pearly too so very shimmery and makes me feel all cosy. And I finally inked up my 'Carolling Magnum' Stamp yay I've had it ages but I think I've been waiting till it was a bit closer to Christmas lol, I know it's sensible to start making Christmas cards in July or all year but I can't make mayself do it, it's like shops putting the decorations up in September, like trying to wait as long as possible to put the decorations up to make it seem more special, and think that's why resist Christmassy things till November lol. But anyways here's the card...

how cool is the glittery rug!!! I want one (though a quick inspection of my bedroom floor reveals that I already have it lol)

Off to start the fun job of backing up all my photos now :S wish me luck lol got 100 DVDs so I'm hoping that's enough lol. XOX

Getting there

I'm back (just for a quick post though as still not feeling brilliant so am guessing the bug hasn't gone completely yet - it must really like me lol (typical)

Anyways this is a card for Ian's Auntie Jean, I found the papers and knew I wanted to use them but didn't want the card to end up looking too traditional and I think the bright colour of the card (my favourite of the doodlebug colours) and the flower lift the colours and work well with the image too. Just noticed it looks quite plain on the photo for some reason looks so much better in real life lol. Also sorry for the not very good photo - will try and edit it and put a better one in if get chance

Supplies: 'Piece of my Heart' Stamps by Penny Black, Cardstock by Doodlebug, Epoxy Dot by Ladybug Crafts Ink
Extras: Papers from my stash (had them since atleast 2004!!! when I did my first scrapbook and I love them so much have clung on to them for all this time), Flowers also from Stash, White Card, Promarkers, Copics

Feeling Bleugh

Just a really quick post cos I'm feeling icky (hopefully *touch wood* getting better but still feeling rather yuck) I'd meant to post this yesterday but couldn't find the energy to concentrate on anything for more than about 5 mins lol.

Anyways this was my uncle's 50th birthday, I've tried to keep it nice and simple though couldn't resist adding the nailheads and epoxy dots for a bit of sparkle since I didn't think I'd get away with glitter lol. He supports Everton (ick) so I had to keep the main colour as blue.

Supplies: Stamp by Papermania, 'Nightlight' Papers by October Afternoon, Epoxy Dots and Nailheads by Ladybug Crafts Ink
Extras: Ribbon from Stash, White Card, Copics, Promarkers, Blue Ink Pad

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge...

A Woman's Place...

Busy few days, I managed to get my entry for Ladybug Crafts Ink's Second Challenge (closes on Monday morning so still time to enter) finished on Tuesday woop that was a relief, as we were at the cinema on Tuesday night to see 'Due Date' (other than a few bits that were a bit too gross for me, was very funny). Then yesterday we went up to Manchester to do a bit of shopping (got a really cute red and white polka dot bird for the Christmas tree and got some fab sequin ribbon can't wait to use it) Ian bought me a little Eeyore wearing antlers and holding a red and white polka dot bauble (notice the theme lol) so somehow he is going to become the angel on the top of the tree lol). Anyways we went and got tea then went to see Jason Manford, was really good had a really good night. And then when we got in my order from Ladybug Crafts Ink had arrived along with my prize stamp woop - really hoping there's some sport on this weekend so I'll get chance to ink them up. Off back to Ian's now - tempted to take them with me in the hopes can find a few spare mins to ink and colour them up lol.

Anyways onto the card...

The challenge was to use ribbon somewhere on your card or project, incase you missed it - I've got a piece of ribbon across the middle with a tiny little bow lol, love that ribbon fortunately I've got masses of it. I finally got to use 'Ironing Nikki' :) works soooo well with the sentiment. I basically followed last week's sketch as I was short of time this week, but I think it works well with the off-centre image and big bow. I also added plenty of glitter and a gem to the image and a few nailheads for some added sparkle and bling. I hand-cut the scallopped edge at the top to change it a bit too, inked the edges and voila (is that how it's spelt?) lol. This is for another of my mum's cousin's hope she likes it. As they are for Sister in Laws I have decorated the inside of this card too, in the same style as my first challenge card. So they make a cute pair of cards I think.

And a close-up, failing miserably to show the glitter (it's on Nikki's top, the iron, random pieces of the washing, Buttercup's bow and Nikki's Slippers so you can imagine it lol) but at least you can see the gem

And the inside and sentiment, how cool is it?!? one of my favourites, it'll definitely be appearing on more cards

Supplies: 'Ironing Nikki' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Green at Heart' Papers by Basic Grey, Silver Nailheads by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug, font from dafont.com
Extras: Whte Card, Purple Ink Pad, Corner Punch, Gems, Ribbon from Stash

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge

Right I'd best get going, lots to get done, ordered a couple of canvases for my mum for Christmas and for some reason they've decided to only send one of the ones I've ordered and the other one is someone else's picture so need to pack that up to send back so I can get my one lol - wouldn't mind but it's no where near as nice as mine - even if I do say so myself lol. Fingers crossed it's second time lucky. XOX

WOW

Wow got a really nice surprise this morning, made sure I was up by 9 ready to check out the second Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge, gorgeous cards from the design team (as always) and anyways I did my own mini blog hop round all their cards and then when I got to the bottom of the post I found that I had been picked as the winner of their First Ever Challenge - how cool is that!!!!!! (this was my card here) I guess I now can't say I never win anything. Sooooooo happy, great big grin on my face lol. So I've just added the badge to my blog :) woop

Anyways I could waffle on for ages but I've got to restrain myself - lots to get done today. So onto today's card, I got this stamp a couple of week's ago, thought it would make a change from my usuals. I love the stripey tights I knew as soon as I saw it I was going to have to colour them in like rainbows - and the name of the stamp gave me the sentiment so it all came together pretty quick. And got to use up some left over paper from the scrapbook pages the other week - yay I love cards like that as I have boxes and boxes of left overs.

I should also apologise for my photography, I've got a busy week and was in a bit of a rush to get everything done, the light had already gone and the flash has made the colours a bit muted - they are really bright primary colours honest

Supplies: 'Gorjuss - A Little Birdie Told Me' Stamp by Sugar Nellie Stamps
Extras: Papers from Stash, Ribbon from Stash, White Card, Blue Ink Pad, Copics

Alphabet Challenge - B for Bird
the sentiment inside carries on from the one on the front 'A Little Birdie Told Me... You're another Year Older' (this card is for one of my friend's who a bit like me does not like to be reminded of that fact)

Right I had best get on, as I need to get my entry for this week's Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge done, as I think I'm only at home today and then a few hours on Sunday and that would be cutting it fine for the closing time of 9am Monday. XOX

Autumn Fairies

Had quite a productive day, had a quick trip up to Matalan with my mum so got some new bedding and towels (and a new top lol), then reorganised my room a bit, and then got some cards finished - actually managed to get 4 (yes 4!!!!) finished. Will be back with the second one tomorrow.

This is the first of the cards and it's for the Scrapbook Sisters Challenge to make a card using Autumn colours, I love Autumn colours so this was an easy challenge, and got to use up some left over papers, the weathervane (stripey) paper offcut had been in the box for probably years now and the other paper and card were left over froma  card I made a few weeks ago. I used my Derwents rather than my markers (well other than for the skin) as I wanted a softer more uneven look.

Another gate-fold card, I love them, make a change to the normal or double fold cards

Supplies: 'Flower Ruby' Stamp by Ladybug Crafts Ink, 'Weathervane' Papers by October Afternoon,  'Nana's Nursery' Papers by DCWV, Double Dot Card by Bo Bunny, Sugar-Coating by Doodlebug
Extras: Derwent Pencils, Copics, Glossy Accents

Right I'm off to sort a few bits out before bed XOX

New Wellies and Fireworks

Not had any time to get any cards done yet, hopefully going to get one done later today while Ian is otherwise occupied with either the football or the Grand Prix. Got a few Birthday cards to get done, starting to get to a busy time of year for me... so many friends' birthdays in December so need to get a head start on them to be able to get them all done as well as all the Christmas Cards. So anyways that's the plan for this afternoon followed by tea and then Strictly and X-Factor results shows.

Anyways coupld of photos for you from Steph's Bonfire Party on Friday, starting off with my new wellies that Ian got me - how cute are they?!?!?!?!?! LOVE them

I restrained myself and am only posting one picture of the fireworks from the hundreds that I took - oh the joys of digital photography lol also got a video of one of the fireworks that made a bit of an odd noise, not heard any like it before, and just noticed that there's an insert video icon on here, might have to have a go lol.

And moving on to the Bonfire, just after it started, again restrained myself and am only posting one of many lol

And one of me and Ian

And now to attempt the video lol, hoping it'll work and the sound will go on too XOX

Ladybug Crafts Ink's First Ever Challenge

Just another quick post as need to do about 3 million things this afternoon and also hoping to fit in a nap -  after all was early morning as I had to go to the dentist - ick ick ick hate it lol but yay didn't have to have anything done so a 6 month reprieve :)

I finally finished my Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Card - only taken 3 days lol but am really pleased with it. The challenge was a sketch with the optional twist to decorate the inside. Now that bit really was a challenge, I've never decorated the inside of a card before, but I think I did OK, added some gems to the front to add some sparkle and to make a change from the glitter and glossy accents, used derwents to colour it to as a change to the alcohol markers, and got shopping Nikki out too - she hadn't been inked in ages.

And the inside... I think it's come out quite well, even if I do say so myself, love these papers - the colours are just gorgeous.
And love this sentiment, thought since I was decorating the inside of the card I'd put the sentiment on the inside too.

And the front and inside together

Just a really quick post as got to post another card now too lol. So straight onto the card...

Was having a bit of a panic with this card as I don't have that many stamps for men and those I have got are more suitable for younger cards, then remembered this Lili of the Valley stamo that hadn't been out in ages.

In the Swing of Things

Yay seem tohave got back into the card making OK this time, felt like it'd been ages since I'd done any challenges but am working my way through them quite nicely now lol. Another pink card today :) I cheated with the paper and used the pre-printed glitter border on the paper for the swirly border along the bottom of the card.

A close-up of the glitter, seem to be getting a bit better of showing the glitter in the photos
