Wow I can't believe it's been so long, computer problems, then when the computer had had a reinstall it seemed to have taken a dislike to blogger and wouldn't let me do anything, hopefully this is now finally sorted (the photos are on the draft so fingers crossed), then had a mad busy month and a bit in work. Work has finished so I'm back to job hunting but hopefully I'll have time to get some cards and scrapping done too, but I'm also trying to teach myself double entry bookkeeping :S not got my head quite round the basics yet but i'm finding it interesting (yep I'm that sad lol), and trying to get a list together of everything we're going to need for our first house so I can get as much together before we move and have no money lol. I think that's all I'm up to at the moment lol.
Anyways I've got a few cards and things to post that I've done the last few weeks so I'll be posting them as and when I can, first up is my entry in the Ladybug Crafts Ink July Challenge, which Kerry kindly posted on the site for me. This was Kate's 30th Card, she is a marine biologist (I think lol) unfortunately I didn't have any dolphin stamps and couldn't find any that I liked but then I remembered Mermaid Nikki by Ladybug Crafts Ink. She was pertfect and fitted into the marine theme that I wanted.
I coloured Nikki and the numbers up with my promarkers and copics, added about a ton of glitter (doodlebug sugar-coating) then added 2 layers of glossy accents (the first layer still looked really bumpy cos of the glitter). The seaweed was cut out from coordinates card and then decorated with glitter and glossy accents, based on a scrapbook page I made years ago :)
I also decided to make a canvas to go with the card, but didn't have a picture to go in it so decided to make a picture frame instead. I added a little drawing to fill in the gap where the photo will go so it looked a bit better when I sent it. I painted the canvas with acrylic paint (I had a bit of a mix up with the paint and added a load of pearly pain by mistake, but it added a nice pearly sheen to the canvas - I painted it in wavy lines so in reallife there's a wavy pattern on it). I added more seaweed to match the card.
I added glitter and glossy accents to the seaweed and added more glossy accents and gems to the canvas. I also stamped an extra couple of fish from the mermaid stamp and cut them out to add to the canvas. I added another fish to the seaweed.
Supplies: 'Mermaid Nikki' and Sentimental Numbers Stamps by Ladybug Crafts Ink, Coordinates Card, Glossy Accents, Doodlebug Sugar-Coating, Gems, Glimmer mist, Acrylic Paints
Right I think that's enough waffle for me - don't want to over-do it on my first day back lol XOX
