Lovely Long Weekend

Yay we've got a nice long weekend if only the sunshine could have stayed around for it but I guess that was inevitable since it's a bank holiday lol. Though just found out there's a street party down our road so we're going to have to go out for the day cos it's not really our thing.

So anyway managed to get some crafting done :) still got lots of cards to get done but wasn't really in the mood to do them. So anyway this was today's layout, the pictures are from a trip down to Wilson's Prom in Australia, the first is a picture of me sitting at the top of Mount Oberon and the other is of the Mount. My poor mate had to listen to me complain all the way up cos I don't do hills lol. But I have to say the view was worth it.

Supplies: Papers, Flower and Alphabet Stickers by Crate Paper (from Scrapagogo Kit), Mini Alphas by My Little Shoebox, Card by Bazzill, White Ink Pad

Biker Chick

Managed to get another page for my Australia scrapbook done (not bad only been back for 4 years!!!!! - but that's REALLY scary that it was that long ago and that I'm still no where near finished lol). The plan was to get loads and loads of crafting done but was knackered and couldn't decide what I wanted to do with anything enough to stick things down. And managed to sit and read outside for a bit too - wish we had sunshine like this all summer just makes me feel happy.

Anyways these are 2 more pictures of the scooter-roo tour in Town of 1770, I'd done the layout for the main page a while ago but just got round to doing this. (I'll try and get a better picture in daylight so not got the flash in the middle of it) I kept the layout simple just added a couple of embellishments and some faux-stitching round the edge to finish the page off - I'll also add a mini license plate next to the title when I find it (just reorganised craft stuff and can't remember where they are lol).

Supplies: Card by Bazzill, Thickers, Paint Marker, Hybrid Elements from Scrapagogo Kit

I would like to enter this in the following challenge...

Right I'm off to bed now as somebody snored ALL night so think only managed about 3 hours altogether so not managed to get alot done today, have planned a couple more pages though so hopefully will have some more to show you, and might even have a page without yellow on it lol - seem to be slightly obsessed with yellow card at the moment lol XOX

Grubs

How was everyone's Easter??? Think I might start on the Easter Eggs in a bit, not had any yet - not even one single mini egg. Back again with my second layout using my March Scrapagogo Kit. I diecided the card needed a bit of extra decorating so I used the hexagon paper to make myself a stencil and then inked straight onto the paper in the top corner to create a honeycombe effect to match the pattern of the paper.

The photos are some from my Australia trip they show how where they find the witchetty grubs, then it getting cooked in the ash of the fire and then finally my face on tasting it lol.

Supplies: March Scrapagogo Kit, Black Paint Marker, Brown Ink Pad, Acetate (to make the stencil)

Right my cold seems to have come back so I think I'm off back to bed for a bit before carrying on tidying up - oh what fun - but can't wait to put everything away now I've got two hanging rails :) yay no more squashed clothes falling off hangers. XOX

Just to prove I haven't been sitting doing nothing

Just to prove that I've been doing something even if haven't found the time to post on here. I managed to find time to play with the March Scrapagogo Kit at the weekend and have made 3 pages from the kit so far and still got enough papers to do another 2 pages. This is the first time I've actually had a good go at using the kit rather than doing one page and putting the rest into my stash (which I really need to use some up cos really got no space left).

Anyways this is my first page using the March kit and used the sketch off the facebook page. Love the Map Die-Cuts - Definitely going to have to use this idea on some other pages with the maps I brought back with me. I was originally going to matt the photos onto card but decided that they looked a bit harsh so decided to use my new favourite of acrylic paint as the backing - alot softer.

Supplies: March Scrapagogo Kit (Paper, Butterfly, Map Die-Cuts), White Acrylic Paint, Black Paintmarker

Right really am off to go and do my bag now XOX

Top 5 Scrapbook Pages of 2011

And now for my favourite 5 Scrapbook Pages of last year....

I love this page, I used the same layout as for the card in the last post - this time featuring my valentines flowers from this year :) I love the clean colourful layout

Canvas this time - love been able to get my scrapbooking up on the wall and on show - very messy layout with lots of paint :)

Another of my favourites - one of my favourite photos and some fab red dotty paper - love the way the colours work with the kraft coloured card

Some nice bright colours this time - taken from the colours on the postcard and accented with wooden stars and mini license plates

And finally a nice Christmas layout with photos from when we were little and used to go on the Santa Special in Haworth - love the colours of the October Afternoon paper and the sketch used.

Right on to plan some more pages to get a kickstart on this year's scrapbooking so can have more to choose from at the end of 2012 XOX

Busy Busy Busy

Wow time flies doesn't it, can't believe it's Christmas Day this time next week. Not had much time to post cos of exams and then more exams a few weeks later - not good but atleast they're all over with and don't think got anymore till March :) wooop woop.

Anyway did manage to squeeze in abit of Scrapbooking :) yay since still got hundreds of Australia trip pictures to scrap. Anyway this one is a bit of a simple layout - think the photos needed the simple background. They were taken at Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island - never seen water so clear or sand as fine and white, really was stunning. The background is covered with shimmer spray - I then added some blue and clear gemsm and then added some ribbons and a bottle of sand :)

Supplies: Letter Stickers by Doodlebug, Cardstock by Doodlebug, Shimmer Spray, Gems, Ribbon, Mini Bottle

Right that's it from me now, I'll try my best to be back on before Christmas - need to get the Christmas done - been so busy with exams and been ill too :S but atleast all my shopping and most of my wrapping is done :) yay :) can't wait :) so can't wait for Christmas :) XOX

Double the Number of Posts

Yes you are seeing it - another post this month - twice as many as last month - which is really bad of me - must try and post more often. Although I am going to let myself off this month as I've had some exams, and now I'm tucked up in bed with a sore throat and earache.

Anyways won't be a long post as I'm busy scanning a box of photos that I've borrowed from my nanna, got loads and loads of them - made up cos we didn't really have many from my dad's side of the family. Looking forward to getting them scanned so can scrapbook them :)

Anyways I have managed to find a bit of time to get some scrapbooking done, getting there with my Australia photos - the album might even be finished this time next year lol. So here is one of the pages. Me and my mate at Melbourne Zoo - seeing a koala for the first time :) Most of the materials were from my Scrapagogo Kit from a few months ago and hadn't used everything up.

Supplies: 'Stella & Rose - Gertie' Papers by My Mind's Eye, Curly-Q Rub-ons by Flair Designs, Fabric Bunting and Twine from Scrapagogo Kit, White Card, Black Ink Pad

Hope you like it :) XOX

Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - Z for Zoo Animals

Yay another long weekend :) I definitely think we need more 4 day weekends lol. Anyways today is Friday and that means that it's time for another challenge over at Alphabet Challenge Blog, this week is Z for Zoo Animals. I had a bit of a panic on that one cos I haven't got that many stamps with zoo animals on - more dogs and cats and don't really think they'd count lol. So I decided on a scrapbook page, I was going to scrap some of the pictures from our trip to Chester Zoo last year but then I was flicking through one of my albums and came across this picture and I really wasn't happy with the layout so I decided to give it another go...

I'd been saving a piece of red dotty paper so I needed to make sure that I got the page right and this was one of my favourite pictures from the trip so lots of pressure lol. But really really pleased with how it's turned out, love the way the colours have turned out - bit different to my usual colour scheme. I now just need to do the other half of the double page (along with about another thousand Australia pictures lol)

Some journalling - one of my favourite techniques putting it on strips meaning that when I make mistakes I only wreck one little bit instead of having to start again from scratch :) And a close-up of the red dotty paper :) love it - really should find a red dotty background for my blog lol

Really like the aqua and red colour combo, love the flowers using the fabric petaloo flowers with the red paper prima one in the centre :)

Supplies: Paper, Card, Alpha Stickers all from January Scrapagogo Set (sorry can't find the list of what's in it and everything is piled ontop of the box now lol), Flowers by Petaloo and Prima, 'Dutch Girl' Paper by Cosmo Cricket, Brackets by Cosmo Cricket, Rub-ons by 7Gypsies
Extras: Gems, Black Ink Pad

Don't forget to head on over to the Challenge Blog and check out what the rest of the Design Team have been up to (I will add their links in the sidebar once I can work out how to fix something to do with Java lol) And sorry the pictures aren't so good - not got photo editing program back after reinstall XOX

PS have a fab long weekend to all those in the UK XOX

Alphabet Challenge Blog DT - V for Vehicles

Ooops I've been naughty and was away last night and forgot to pre-post my design team work for this week. So sorry that it's late but hey better late than never. This week's challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is V for Vehicles, I didn't have any cards to get made (or so I thought at the beginning of the week and then suddenly found lots that needed doing) so I decided to use the chance to get another page of my Australia album finished.

I had bought a scrapagogo kit in January, and it had been sitting there patiently waiting to be used lol. I love the colours and different sort of style to my usual choice of papers. Can't wait to use the rest of the papers and embellishments. The kit also came with some wood veneer stars, these didn't really go so I got my promarkers out and coloured them in - so could match them to the colour scheme and because of the wood finish they have a bit of a shimmer to them.

Supplies: Papers, Card, Ribbon and Stars from January Scrapagogo Kit, License Plates by Karen Foster, Thickers by American Crafts
Extras: Red Ink Pad, Mini Brads

Right tea time and then off to start on the million cards I need to get done this weekend lol, don't forget to head on over to the Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the design team have been up to XOX

Sunny Christmas

It really is one of those days, I've only just realised when I looked at the photo that I've written the wrong year on it doh - should be December 2007 - looks like I'll be doing some repair work on it tomorrow lol. This is another page for my Australia Album still thousands of photos to get done - I think it's one of those if I actually sat down and did them would get through but keep putting it off cos one page and a couple of photos at a time doesn't seem to get me anywhere lol.

Anyways this is the layout, my other christmas pages for that year have focused on the sun and summer theme, but this one I wanted to use some more traditional papers, these from sassafras lass were just soooooooo cute and the colours worked well with the photo (all the Aussies I spoke to didn't like the tree at all but I thought it was really pretty, it was made up of loads and loads of stars that were slightly pearly - so different to what we have at home, but given the temperature difference am sure this one that didn't need watering was a much more practical option lol), I used a matching journalling card and cut an extra reindeer out of the papers and added a little gem to his nose to finish off the layout.

Supplies: Papers by Sassafras Lass (know one of them is Life At The Pole - Reindeer Kisses, but can't remember what the rest are), Journalling Card by Sassafras Lass, Card by DCWV & Doodlebug
Extras: Black Ink Pad, Red Gem

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges...

Right am off to get some dinner then see how much tidying I can get done before I need to go out (fingers crossed lots so I don't have to do it tomorrow lol) XOX

Sparkley Doodles

Managed to get another couple of my Australia pictures scrapbooked :) and have made a start on decorating the first set of drawers, have kept them quite (very) simple and just need to find my gems to finish them off then can post the pics tomorrow or Wednesday.

I love these pages even though there is glitter EVERYWHERE! The challenge was to doodle, I decided that I didn't want to just doodle with my paint markers like I've done before, and instead doodled the pattern with my glue pen/marker left it to dry and then added the gold glitter which looks really fab and sparkley against the black. I also glittered the frames of the photos, and doodled around the edges of the cocktail recipes. The photos were taken at a fab little cocktail bar, down lots of side streets with just a little tiny sign by the door, thank goodness I had a local showing me round lol.

And page 2 of the double page (forgot to take pictures of the 2 together)

Supplies: Card by Doodlebug
Extras: Gold Glitter, Glue Pen, Australia Punch, Chipboard Letter

I would like to enter this layout in the following challenge...

NO designer paper!!!!!

Yay finally sitting down and got no intention of getting up anytime soon lol. I went to Ikea with Ian yesterday so I've got myself a new bookcase (wasn't impressed though they've stopped making the bookcases in the colour of my old one and they've stopped making the width of my old one). But fortunately I'd taken measurements (for once I normally forget) so I knew there was space for the bigger one, so we spent the afternoon building them and then sorting all the books and DVDs out. :D it's fab I've now more than doubled the space I've got, and got space for my craft books too :) I know I'm mad but I'm made up with it :) Anyways am sooooo achy this morning lol, must be old-age, so am thinking lazy day today while I work my way through the leftover trick or treat sweets - something of a challenge trying now to pull fillings out lol, and  yay it's all done now and my room looks alot tidier and got space to go out and buy more hehe...
I've just received my order from Craft Island, I only ordered the papers on Saturday night so wasn't expecting them till later in the week lol, and now really haven't got any excuse for not getting any cards done lol. And yay topped up my supplies of Alphabet Soup papers by My Mind's Eye, they're some of my favourite papers at the moment. I was naughty I shouldn't really have ordered more new paper when I've got 2 boxes of part-used paper that really need to be used up. But couldn't resist lol. Anyways just finished the Ladybug Crafts Ink Blog Hop (link on the left) and got their first challenge to start on this afternoon.

Right anyways onto today's proper post...

I'm using 2 challenges for these pages, a brown and orange colour scheme and NO designer paper, I don't think I've ever done a card or layout without designer paper - so I was thinking this was going to be one hell of a challenge. Fortunately I had been sorting through everything and found my journal from when I was in Australia and I'd actually sketched what I wanted to do for this layout while I was still there - hehe the journal paid off

This is the double page layout, of sunset at Uluru, the rock glowed red/orange and the sunset was stunning. I wanted to keep the page quite clean so the focus is on the photos and also wanted to keep it in the theme, so the decided to have a go at some Aboriginal style painting, so made the dots by dipping the end of a pencil in the paint and then 'stamping' onto the card. The lines were made in the same way using the end of a ruler and the end of an emery board, and the yellow spikey semi circle is the symbol for Sunset too so that was inkeeping.

Close up of the left page showing Uluru

Close up of the right page, showing the stunning sunset we saw while we were down at Uluru (doh forgot to check for finger prints on the photo first lol)

Supplies: Rub-ons by Flair Designs
Extras: Brown Card, White Ink Pad, White, Yellow Ochre, Orange Acrylic Paints

Bright and Sparkley

Don't know where this week has gone, had a bit of a nightmare day on tuesday but yesterday the sun was out and it was a much better day, also finally managed to catch up on some sleep yay so am finally feeling a bit better. And am slowly going though my Australia album

This layout is of photos that were taken on South Molle Island in the Whitsundays, both mornings we went down for breakfast and had to eat quick before the lorikeets turned up and invaded the breakfast tables, they look gorgeous so bright, not like anything we have back home and there were masses of them. This paper was from a set from a Pound Shop (not got a clue which) and think it matches the colours on the birds perfectly.

Supplies: Yellow Sugar-Coated Card by Doodlebug, Blue Green and White Card by Doodlebug, Glittery Brads by Papermania, All Mixed up Rub-ons by Doodlebug
Extras: Stripey paper from Stash, Blue Ink Pad

I would like to enter this layout in the following challenge...

Papertake Weekly Challenge - SPARKLEY & BRIGHT
I love this layout, it's so bright and sparkley (had the usual issues of trying to take pictures of the sparkle lol) managed to get it to show on the title but all of the photos are mounted onto the same glittery card and the brads are glittery too

Right had best go and get some dinner XOX

Dear Santa... Define Good...

Yay another scrapbook page, am getting there (allbeit very slowly lol), I've spent this morning filling in online application forms and head is now feeling VERY battered lol, Now all I've got to do is collect all the information up cos not got a clue what bits I'm going to need.

Right anyways a scrapbook page today - told you was on a roll with my crafting, a definite plus on the side of not working lol - and another challenge layout! this was to complete a layout using only red, black and white - this really isn't one of my favourite colour combinations anymore (did go through a stage where is was my favourite about 5 years ago - which was great cos it meant hidden away in all the drawers and cupboards was lots of red, black and white embellishments just sitting gathering dust waiting till they came back into favour again lol).

This layout is of the Christmas Day I spent in Australia, I didn't want traditional Christmas colour's as I'll have enough pages of them with Christmas photos from over here (when I eventually get round to scrapping them lol). Plus with all the sunshine and sunbathing it just didn't feel like Christmas at all. I couldn't resist putting in the patterned paper with all snowy words on but I think that was more for the colours rather than the winter/christmas aspect lol. I added quite a bit of journalling to this page as it is the journalling for all of the Christmas Day pages. The title came from my vest 'DEAR SANTA... DEFINE GOOD' I love it, and just for the record I was good and santa brought me a parcel of presents over all the way from the UK lol.

Anyways before I waffle on too long, I'd like to enter this LO in the folllowing Challenge...

Paper Cutz Challenge #62 - RED,  BLACK & WHITE ONLY

Supplies: 'Party Mix' Rub-ons by Doodlebug, Paper by DCWV, Card (red, black and white) by Doodlebug
Extras: 'Hand-Made' Lined Paper, Flowers from Stash, Black Paint Marker

Right had best get on, see if I can find any jobs to apply for, then hopefully might try and get a card or scrapbook page done XOX

Friday, 8 October 2010

Yuck!!!

Just a quick post, hopefully going to post a card later so thought would post now rather than one right after the other, anyways will be quick cos I'm on a roll and don't want to forget what I'm up to lol. Been planning lots this morning so now just got to turn the ideas and sketches into reality lol - easier said than done.

Anyways I'm continuing through my Australia photos, I was over there for nearly 8 months and took I think it was over 7000 photos, and think I had over 1000 printed (it was too hard to chose which I would need for my album lol) so anyways still haven't really got anywhere with them, so that's my task now, got to try and only scrapbook those photos and not get distracted by any others lol (yep I've passed all the others to my mum so not even tempted lol). So anyways I'm going to have to track down some more scrapbook challenge blogs - has anyone got any good ones? if so let me know cos I'm finding them a bit hard to come by.

So anyway this is one of my Australia photos and a very attractive one at that, sorry if it's too icky for you - think it was worse for me it was my feet eeeewwwwww. Anyways this was taken near Nimbin, we'd been down to a waterfall and been swimming (well a couple of us did, the rest didn't want to get wet cos it was raining - think it was actually warmer in the water though) and then had to walk back up to the coach along a dirt path that in the rain had become horrible sticky mud, oh the joys of flip flops though, quick rinse with the hose and they were as good as new - my feet took a bit more cleaning lol.

Anyways I would like to enter this in the following challenge...
The Pink Scrapbook Challenge #25 - RECIPE CHALLENGE: THE COLOUR AQUA, DP AND EMBELLISHMENTS OF YOUR CHOICE

Supplies: Papers by Stacy Claire Boyd, Flowers by Petaloo, Brads by Making Memories, Stamps by Papermania (I think)
Extras: Aqua and Brown Card, Bronze Ink Pad, Rub-ons from Stash, Black Fineliner, White Paint Marker

Wow what a lot of waffle, so much for a quick post, ah well makes up for getting off easy with yesterday's post lol. XOX

Thong Marks

I'm still away at the moment so not getting any new cards (or well anything made) for the next few days so I thought I'd share a couple of my scrapbook pages that I've made a few months ago - I know I keep saying it but I REALLY REALLY need to get back onto my scrapbooking, I've still barely scraped the surface of all my Australia trip photos and as for the rest of them I think it's going to be one of those never-ending tasks lol.

We had a fab day out yesterday, went up to Anglesey to see the train station with the longest name (don't ask me what it is now, will have to go and look it up off the photos lol - I think I'll try and post some of the photos tomorrow if I get chance) then down to Caenarven (I know I'll have spelt that wrong but hopefully you know where I mean) Castle, then we called into Beddgelert (again haven't got a clue if I've spelt that right or not) before heading back to Ian's for tea and the quiz. Needless to say slept really well last night lol. Off out again now so will try and post some pictures tonight or tomorrow of the last couple of days.

And onto the layout, this is one of my favourites, I think I challenged myself to use atleast 5 papers on a layout, and this was the result, I love it, especially the top corner by the photo where I've folded the paper over to reveal the otherside of the double-sided paper (the bi right under the watermark, oops), I think I'm going to have to try that on a card too, might as well make the most of the double-sided papers.

I think this photo was taken after a couple of months in Australia, I'm sure I've got another picture towards the end and the marks were even more noticable. The photo was taken at St Kilda beach in Melbourne, sat on a wall overlooking the beach watching all the kite surfers, on one of my last days in Melbourne. I soooooooo can't wait to go back there.

Supplies: 'Snorkel' Papers by Cosmo Cricket, 'Snorkel' Stickers also by Cosmo Cricket, Letter Stickers by Doodlebug
Extras: Black Ink Pad, Red Paint Marker

Right had best get going, more later XOX

Monday, 26 July 2010

I thought it was meant to be July

It has tipped down all day today, got soaked on the way to work, on the way to get my dinner and then on the way home too, what a miserable start to the week. I thought I'd post something summery since the weather people seem to have forgotten that's what it's meant to be now lol.

Anyways here is one of my layouts from my Australia Album, I love this photo and would love to go back and take some more pictures - anyone willing to pay for a ticket??? PLEEEAAASSSEEEE??? As the title would suggest the photo is of Lake McKenzie, on Fraser Island off the East Coast of Australia, it was absolutely stunning - the pictures really don't do it justice. The water was crystal clear, turquoise in the shallows going deep blue when it went deeper. And the sand was incredibly fine, like icing sugar. I didn't want anything to distract from the photo so I kept my layout really simple.

Supplies: Sugar-coating, Sugar-coated Card & Card all by Doodlebug (how easy was that lol)

Anyways just a really quick post as I need to have a play with my new toy and need to try and get a couple of cards atleast started. XOX

One for Sorrow...

A magpie seems to have taken up residence in the back garden today, keeps flying off but then coming back to the same spot - very odd and I wish it would either go away or at least bring a friend so can move onto 'Two for Joy' lol.
Another scrapbook page to share today, this is one of my all time favourite pages, I love the layout but also the photos bring back great memories and I think the layout helps with that. This was created from a sketch (will have to check where it was from), I love sketches - a great way to get over scrapping block, I've used this specific sketch about 5 times and none of the pages are the same. The page itself came together really quickly it was the journalling that took the time as this was all written by hand, cut out, inked and then spaced before been stuck down. This was the first time I tried that and it's now cropped up on rather a lot of my pages now

Supplies: Papers by K & Co, Card by Papermania, Rub-ons by Doodlebug, Stickers by 7Gypsies and flowers by petaloo.
The photos were from a tour of the Atherton Tablelands (near Cairns) towards the end of my trip to Australia. This is Milla Milla Falls and it's meant to be where Peter Andre filmed Mysterious Girl and where the Timotai Advert with the famous Hair Flick was filmed (I don't know how true either of those are as the info came from a tour guide and they tend to have a habit of embellishing stories lol. But well it was stunning, even on a cloudy day. The only thing was the water was freezing - and I mean FREEZING - it was a case of your entire body been covered in goosebumps when you were only ankle deep, and you know how normally it feels OK once you're in, nope not there it doesn't lol. And then we all had to have a go of doing the hair flick... fair play to the model from the advert it's hard work and there were LOADS of outtakes trying to get the right shot but I think it was worth it (now I'm sat here nice and warm and dry lol).
Anyways I had best get on, finished for a week off now, and lots to do this afternoon so I can sit and do nothing tonight. Ordered some more Pro-Markers from Angel Crafts yesterday (thanks for the tip-off Kerry) so I'm hoping they'll arrive the beginning of the week so can have a play with them. But for now, I'm off to do boring stuff like put washing away.. (hopefully back with a card later...XOX

Oooops

Oops didn't manage to get any cards done this weekend, the time went far to quickly. Was naughty and had chippy tea on Friday and then pizza last night, and by some miracle when tried my dress on (we're at a wedding in a fortnight) this morning, it still fits :) yay not got to starve myself for the next 2 weeks :) Anyways so turned into a bit of a busy weekend, calling in to visit people all of Saturday, and then a lazy day watching rubbish on the telly today to make up for it.

I was meant to get some cards done this evening but they will have to wait till tomorrow, cos I decided instead to start sorting my room. I used to collect Cherished Teddies so I spent this evening roundin them up and sorting out a load to go back in boxes in the loft for now. Glad that done and out of the way, made loads of space, just need to stop sneezing from the dust (lets just say it had been a while since the top shelves had been dusted (well hey they're well above my eye-level so I can't see it lol) - when I have my own house I want one of those signs that says 'You can touch the dust but please don't write in it'

Anyways haven't really got anything to show for it so I thought I'd share another of my scrapbook pages...

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Story Time paper, Doodlebug card, Felt letters
this one is from when I did a sky-dive in australia, which was absolutely amazing.
